All summer, Dragon Age fans were treated to Knight Errant, the latest in a long line of collaborations between BioWare and Dark Horse Comics. It was the story of the elven thief Vaea (day job: posing as the squire of a wine-addled Ferelden knight) and a dangerous assignment in the heart of a dangerous city.
Fans of the monthly issues followed Vaea as she bounced between major mainstays of the franchise, like companion character Varric Tethras and the titular Inquisition, and some lesser known bits of its story. I mean, who among you had heard of the town of Edgehall? An now, fans who wait for the trade can catch up on her adventures too.
Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, Polygon readers can enjoy the first 12 pages of Dragon Age: Knight Errant — introducing Vaea, her knight Ser Aaron and the very beginning of her secret mission. The book is written by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir, with art by Fernando Heinz Furukawa and covers by Sachin Teng, and it hits shelves on Jan. 3, 2018.
In the course of Knight Errant, Vaea also runs into a pair of returning friends from a previous Dragon Age comic. Does this mean we might see them in future games? Your guess is as good as mine — but my fingers are crossed.
