Dark Horse comics announced the latest miniseries in its series of Tomb Raider comics today, Tomb Raider: Survivor’s Crusade, from a brand new creative team.
“Lara Croft has unfinished business,” the publisher said in a press release. “After facing Trinity in Siberia [in Rise of the Tomb Raider], she’s driven to unravel the mystery behind her father’s death. After pushing her training to the limit and following clues that lead to more questions than answers, Lara is prepared to put everything on the line to uncover the truth.”
During the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider (Warning: In case you haven’t guessed, this paragraph contains spoilers for Rise of the Tomb Raider), the most recent game in Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider series, Lara discovered that her father did not commit suicide as she’d always believed. Instead, he was murdered by agents of the ancient paranormal order of religious assassins and soldiers known as Trinity, because he’d gotten too close to their secrets.
It looks like Survivor’s Crusade will pick up that thread, with writing partners Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly penning scripts, Ashley A. Woods on art and Michael Atiyeh on colors. Covers for the comic’s four issues (including #1, seen above) will be drawn by Hannah Fisher.
Tomb Raider: Survivor’s Crusade #1 will hit shelves on Nov. 22, 2017. You can get a look at the full cover below:
