BioWare and Dark Horse comics have been continuing the story of Dragon Age all summer with the five issue miniseries Dragon Age: Knight Errant, and the story — full of spies and red lyrium and magical inter-species racial tension — will finish up very soon.

Like other Dragon Age tie-in comics, Knight Errant follows the adventures of a new character or two, but with plenty of cameos from fan-favorite NPCs. In Knight Errant it’s the elf Vaea, secret thief and public squire of a traveling knight, who takes the lead — with major appearances from Dragon Age 2 companion characters Varric Tethras and Sebastian Vael.

So far in the series, Vaea’s proclivity for stealing from the rich and giving to the poor has caught the eye of the Inquisition, as the organization is in need of a talented infiltrator to rescue two of their agents and complete their failed mission. But the final issue of Knight Errant looks like it’s going to be just as much about Vaea’s relationship with her bumbling mentor Ser Aaron as it is about the secrets of red lyrium falling into the wrong hands.

Here’s the official summary of the issue from Dark Horse Comics:

As the truth about Vaea's proclivities is revealed, she steels herself for Ser Aaron's judgment. Before they're able to discuss much, Marquette arrives with his men and a vicious fight breaks out--the result of which will determine both Vaea's future and that of freedom in Thedas.

Dragon Age: Knight Errant is written by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir and drawn by Fernando Heinz Furukawa, with covers by Sachin Teng. Check out six pages from the upcoming issue, out on Sept. 13, below.
