Find and incapacitate 17 cyberpsychos

Jeffrey Parkin (he/him) has been writing video game guides for Polygon for almost seven years. He has learned to love just about every genre of game that exists.

Very early in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll get a Side Job from Regina Jones called “Psycho Killer.” She’ll ask you to find and incapacitate 17 Cyberpsychos in and around Night City. The problem is, she’ll give you the Side Job without any context and just leave you to it.

In this Cyberpunk 2077 guide, we’ll explain how (and when) to complete the “Psycho Killer” Side Job.

Psycho Killer

Let’s get this out of the way first.

When Regina calls you to assign the “Psycho Killer” Side Job to you, it’ll be very shortly after you see Cyberpunk 2077’s title screen and regain control of V. If you’re anything like us, you basically forgot about it immediately.

This Side Job is actually a great example of how these multi-part, longer Side Jobs work. You’ll get an overarching Side Job first — the “Psycho Killer” one, in this case — and, later, you’ll get individual tasks (other Side Jobs or Gigs) for each of the steps. That means you’ll eventually have 17 more Cyberpsycho-related tasks in your journal.

How to find the 17 Cyberpsychos

First, the Cyberpsychos you’re after tend to be higher-level bullet sponges who will ruin your day, so don’t rush to find them.

Second, you don’t exactly have to seek them out. As you travel around Night City doing Jobs, Side Jobs, Gigs, or even just shopping, you’ll be getting a stream of phone calls and texts about nearby activities. One of those activities happens to be Cyberpsycho sightings.

When Regina calls you with these updates, you’ll get a Gig that starts with “Cyberpsycho Sighting” and a location. From your Journal, you can pin down exactly where you need to go. (Seriously, though, wait until the danger listed is at moderate or lower because Cyberpsychos are tough fights).

With enough time and travel, you’ll eventually get phone calls about all 17. Or, you can keep scrolling to find maps with the (approximate) locations of all 17.

We’ve numbered the 17 Cyberpsycho Sightings in the order they’ll unlock (based on your progress through the game and the “Psycho Killer” Side Job). They cluster in each region of Night City, so we’ve included zoomed in maps in the gallery below.

If you arrive at a location and don’t get a phone call from Regina, skip that sighting for now. Head out to do some other jobs or gigs (or progress the main story) for a bit. And always keep an eye on the danger level for each new sighting.
