Leveling up your V in Cyberpunk 2077 involves a series of interrelated systems, but the biggest and broadest of these is Attributes, which greets you when you enter the Character menu.
In this Cyberpunk 2077 guide, we’ll teach you about Attributes and Attribute Points and how they work with Body, Reflexes, Technical Ability, Cool, and Intelligence.
Cyberpunk 2077 Attributes and Attribute Points, explained
Attributes are the broadest way to define your character. They define generally how strong, smart, suave, or even stealthily they are. For example, if you generally want to be better at stealth, upgrade the Cool Attribute, because every level increases your stealth damage.
Cyberpunk 2077 Attributes
Attribute | Related stats |
---|---|
Attribute | Related stats |
Body | Health, Stamina |
Reflexes | Damage per second (DPS), Crit Chance |
Cool | Crit damage, Resistances, Detection Time |
Technical Ability | Armor |
Intelligence | Cyberdeck RAM |
To level up your Attributes, you need Attribute Points. You earn Attribute Points as you level up your character doing things like completing missions and other activities around Night City. You’ll get experience points (XP), and every third level with come with an Attribute Point.
So, gain, Attributes are general, broad characteristics. Things get more specific with Skills and Perks, which we’ll talk about in other guides, but the basics go like this: Every Attribute contains Skills related to it (Cool contains a Skill called Stealth, for example). Perks, which grant new abilities and bonuses, live inside of Skills. The higher your Attribute level, the more Perks you can purchase. The more points you pump into each category, the better your V becomes.
