NBA 2K19 Xbox One bundles with Amazon Echo Dot Microsoft

Starting today, Oct. 12, some Xbox One bundles will get a little bigger. Microsoft announced Thursday that the new third-generation Echo Dot will be included in “qualified” Xbox One S and Xbox One X NBA 2K19 bundles bought at Amazon — “while supplies last.”

This promotion comes in conjunction with an Xbox skill being added to the Xbox One for Alexa and Cortana devices. Following the failure of Kinect, voice commands have only been available with a mic while the console is turned on. Adding the skill to existing smart home setups means that Microsoft doesn’t have to create a whole new Kinect-like device.

The Echo Dot is one of our sister site The Verge’s favorite smart home devices, and the third-generation version brings some style and sound upgrades. It normally retails for $49.99.

Microsoft has been pushing a lot of bundles recently — the Xbox One S is only available in bundle form now — but interestingly, this isn’t a new bundle. Instead, Amazon is just adding an Echo Dot to an existing bundle.

If you’re in the market for a new Xbox, now is the time to pick one up. Choose an Xbox One S ($299.99) or Xbox One X ($499.99) and the Sandstone or Charcoal Echo Dot color scheme.

Update: Amazon confirmed to Polygon that the promotion only applies to NBA 2K19 Xbox One bundles. We’ve updated this post accordingly.
