If you’ve still got some last minute gift shopping to do or just want to catch up on the games you missed this year, GameStop’s Game Days sale is a great place to start. Some of the year’s best games, mostly on PS4 and Xbox One, will be discounted through Christmas Day, including God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Tetris Effect. There are also some great discounts on headsets, controllers and other accessories to check out.
Switch users can take advantage of some excellent deals on accessories this weekend as well. For Amazon Prime members, the Switch Pro Controller is $10 off the usually $69.99 price, bringing it down to $59.99. Anker’s powerful USB-C battery pack is one of the few portable chargers that can juice up a Switch while in use. Usually $100, it’s on sale at Amazon for $77.99. And microSD cards just keep getting cheaper.
Finally, the last remaining Black Friday console deal, $100 off an Xbox One X 1 TB, is sold out at Amazon, bust still available at Walmart and directly from Microsoft.
Sometimes the weekend is just too short: join us on Twitter for all the latest deals throughout the week.

Commerce team picks
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launched last week and while Nintendo has added lots of new characters, stages and modes, my favorite way to play is still with a good old fashioned GameCube controller. I rounded up all of the new GameCube controller options to help you fight like you did in high school. Or if you have your old controllers lying around, 8BitDo makes a cool adapter that connects them to your Switch wirelessly.
- Two adorable new children’s books from D&D publisher Wizards of the Coast teach ABCs and 123s through the world of Dungeons and Dragons. I interviewed the author and illustrator this week, and picked up a copy of the books for my nephew!
- The early unlock games in the Humble Monthly bundle for January were announced: Just Cause 3 XXL Edition, Wizard of Legend and Project Cars 2. With a $12 subscription, you can start playing those games right away, with the rest of the bundle unlocking on Jan. 4.
