The latest entry in our new mid-week deals column has something for everyone, whether you’re looking to upgrade your PC setup or catch up on some of the games (and retro console releases) you missed last year.
Here are the highlights: The PlayStation Classic, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man are all on sale for $39.99. We added a comics category for Humble’s newest pay-what-you-want digital comics bundle. And Alienware’s massive 34-inch gaming monitor is discounted in a Dell doorbuster deal.
As always, if there’s a category you’d like to see next week or a deal I’m missing, let me know in the comments or on Twitter @PolygonDeals.
Best monitor deal: Alienware 34-inch Curved Gaming Monitor
This Alienware monitor is a beast, both in terms of size and power. The 34-inch curved screen has some of the widest viewing angles available for PC gaming and G-sync technology allows the monitor to keep up with Nvidia’s powerful new RTX graphics cards. Right now it’s on sale via Dell’s own website for nearly half off at $799 (usually $1499.99). Plus, Dell is throwing in a $75 gift card.
Best console deal: PlayStation Classic
Yes, the PlayStation Classic was, on the whole, a disappointment. However, it’s on sale for $39.99 right now which, considering how easy it is to add games you actually want to play, seems a lot more reasonable. Today’s the last day the discount will be available at Walmart, but considering prices have been steadily declining since launch, we expect it will be back.
Best game deal: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Spider-Man
Two of last year’s biggest hits are discounted to $39.99 today: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Both games made Polygon’s top 10 games of the year, so we couldn’t pick just one as our best game deal of the week. If you’ve been waiting for a discount to dive into one of these excellent games, now’s your chance.
The $20 discount applies only to physical copies and is available at both GameStop and Amazon.
Best comics deal: Humble “Start Here” bundle
Humble’s latest pay-what-you-want bundle collects first issues, volume ones, and a few standalone graphic novels in acclaimed comics series. The first tier, which is unlocked by paying just $1, includes the first issues of the Bob’s Burgers comic, Deadly Class, Lumberjanes, and a few others. The full bundle, which is yours for $20 or more, includes classics like From Hell, Bone, and Saga.
