From Alienware laptops to Nintendo Switch accessories, there were several great gaming deals this week. Unfortunately, many of them were limited-time sales that lasted only a few hours, but there are still some stragglers left over to take advantage of.
A Best Buy flash sale is discounting a bunch of tech, including a high-end Samsung 4K TV and an LG 4K monitor. Both of those displays come with AMD FreeSync to keep up with the fastest GPUs. Plus, PowerA’s lightning deal pricing on its wireless GameCube controller is still available for the purple version of the gamepad, and a mystery-themed PC game bundle is back at Fanatical.
As always, if there’s a deal we missed or a category you’d like to see covered, let us know on Twitter at @PolygonDeals.
Best TV deal: Samsung 65-inch NU8000 4K TV
Samsung’s 65-inch 8-Series TV is on sale for $849.99 in a Best Buy flash sale — $350 off MSRP and more than $100 cheaper than it was on Black Friday last year. The UHD TV also supports AMD FreeSync with a firmware update, so Xbox One X owners can experience the height of 4K gaming without screen tearing.
Best monitor deal: LG FreeSync monitor
Two LG monitors are included in the Best Buy flash sale as well. Both monitors also utilize AMD FreeSync. A 27-inch model is on sale for $349.99 ($100 off) and a 32-inch version is $120 off at $379.99.
Best accessory deal: PowerA wireless GameCube controller
With the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate last year, many third-party peripheral manufacturers released Switch-compatible GameCube controllers to Smash with. The only wireless option, though, is PowerA’s officially licensed Bluetooth controller. An Amazon lighting deal on Tuesday dropped the retro gamepad to $42.49 for a limited time, but the purple version has been at that price for a few weeks and is still discounted.
Best game deal: Undercover Bundle
PC digital retailer Fanatical is running a “Bundle Blast” sale, with a bunch of Steam key bundles released throughout the week. My personal favorite is the Undercover Bundle, a collection of 10 mystery- and crime-themed games, like The Sexy Brutale, Beholder, and The Invisible Hours for $2.99. Combined, the included games are worth over $140, so that’s a 93 percent discount.
