Death Stranding guide: Finding items on the equipment wheel radial menu

Learn how your equipment gets sorted when you carry a lot

Jeffrey Parkin (he/him) has been writing video game guides for Polygon for almost seven years. He has learned to love just about every genre of game that exists.

As you accumulate more and more equipment in Death Stranding, it becomes a little harder to manage. When you have enough — more than seven things or so — your stuff will stop showing up when you open your equipment wheel.

There’s a controller tip that’s very easy to miss that will solve this problem.

When you press right on the D-pad to open your equipment wheel, the first seven (or fewer) pieces of equipment will appear. (This first page always includes your strand.) Additional equipment gets sorted into other pages with up to seven more pieces each.

If you look down in the lower right corner, you’ll see the page you’re on out of the total, and a control tip letting you know you can change pages by clicking the right thumbstick, which is R3.

What type of equipment each piece is determines what page it appears on, regardless of where is located on Sam’s suit. Guns and constructibles like ladders or PCCs appear on the first page. After that, you’ll find your various types of grenades.
