Death Stranding guide: How to find and upgrade the Power Skeleton

One of the best upgrades in the game is one you’ll want to upgrade immediately

When you start playing Death Stranding, you’ll be a puny little delivery man, barely able to carry 100 kilograms on your back. You’ll be stuck with that limitation throughout the game’s starting map. But once you get to the Central Region map, that will change pretty quickly, thanks to God’s gift to deliveries: the Power Skeleton.

Where do I find the Power Skeleton?

Once you reach the large Central Region map, you’re given a quest to connect several preppers to the Chiral Network. One of these preppers is called The Engineer, and he’s about to be your new best friend. You can find him south of Lake Knot City.

After you connect The Engineer to the Chiral Network, he’ll grant you the Power Skeleton (Lv. 1), which dramatically increases your carry weight. Just make sure that you fabricate it and equip it in the cargo menu — otherwise, it won’t do squat.

How do I upgrade the Power Skeleton?

You’re not done yet! You can upgrade the Power Skeleton to Level 3, which improves its power consumption and carry weight. Considering it’s something you’ll be using throughout most of Death Stranding, it’s definitely worth taking the time.

To get improved schematics for the Power Skeleton, you’ll need to improve your relationship with The Engineer. To do this, bring him Lost Cargo addressed to The Engineer, which you’ll find in the wild, and complete Standard Orders for him from various other locations.

Once you reach 3 stars with The Engineer, you’ll unlock Level 2 of the Power Skeleton (pictured above). To achieve Level 3, you’ll need to get him up to 4 Stars. This isn’t too hard and shouldn’t take more than six or seven deliveries in total.

Once you’ve unlocked Level 3 of the Power Skeleton, you’ll be able to carry around 300 kilograms (though you probably don’t want to exceed 200 in the interest of maintaining balance).

Now that you can carry the entire world on your back, think of the deliveries you can make!
