How connection level rewards and stars work

Your job in Death Stranding is to reconnect people. As you deliver cargo and get Likes for a job well (or poorly) done, your connection level increases, and you earn points toward the five stars for every place and person who takes and offers deliveries.

Nearly every star that you earn comes with a reward. Sometimes that’s text to read. But occasionally, it’s something much more interesting. Here’s the general pattern:

• ⭐️⭐️ Rewards for the first two stars are generally story- and character-related items that Sam gets after adding people and places to the chiral network.
• ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The three-star reward tends to be a new color for Sam’s equipment.
• ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The four-star reward is a hologram (and sometimes more).
• ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The five-star reward always adds a cosmetic star to Sam’s pant leg, various other items, and the ability to rest at the structure (if you couldn’t already rest there).
