We learned a lot while claiming Deathloop’s Havoc Slab from Fia, and it’s time to put that to use to pry into Wenjie’s secrets.
Our Deathloop “What Wenjies Want” guide will help you find everything you need for the identify Wenjie’s weakness, search Wenjie’s quarters, search Wenjie’s junk, visit 2-Bit, find a recording of Aleksis, and retrieve the recording from the Library steps of this Lead.

Loadout
You’ve got a lot more freedom during this Lead. For long sections, you won't be dealing with Eternalists, and even when you have to, stealth isn’t your priority. Pick out weapons you’re comfortable with.
The Nexus Slab is always good. You’ll have the option for (at least) the Havoc and Shift Slabs for your other slot. Both have their uses over the course of this Lead. Shift will let you sneak around the back way into Aleksis’s mansion during “Find a Recording of Aleksis” and Havoc will be more useful for the “Retrieve the Recording from the Library” step.
What Wenjies Want
Wenjie is a straightforward mark in the afternoons, but my newly busy schedule calls for a fresh approach.
Our Deathloop guides aren’t the only path through this district. You can take whatever path you want with as much stealth or combat as you see fit. Our guide focuses on the path(s) that lead to every clue and Lead, letting you pick up any useful weapons along the way, and generally avoiding combat.
For this Lead, we’re heading to The Complex in the afternoon to poke around Wenjie’s office.
Identify Wenjie’s Weakness
I don’t know enough about AEON’s resident egghead(s). Time to rectify that
We’re heading into Wenjie’s locked office at the base of The Complex.
The code is included in the Aesthetics are Key document we picked up during the “Find the Cipher” step of “Space Invaders.” It was on the note we found in the safe at the entrance to the Yerhva in Karl’s Bay.
This code is different in every game, so you’ll have to find that note to gain access to Wenjie’s office.
Search Wenjie’s Quarters
Wenjie rather publicly refused a party invite from Aleksis. Bet the drama doesn’t end there. With code ---- I can snoop around the private area of her lab.

Head to The Complex in the afternoon. You’ve been through here, so we’re not going to walk you through every step. When you reach Wenjie’s lab, head for the blue building on the right.
Commandeer the turret by the door (like you did the first time here) to clear out any nearby Wenjies, and then head downstairs. Use the code to get into Wenjie’s Quarters.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823293/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_2.png)
Check the whiteboards and maps in the middle of the room to grab the Notes on Updaam’s Cliffside Facilty. Go read her minicom messages.
Search Wenjie’s Junk
2-Bit can craft a custom invitation for Wenjie. The perfect hook for some juicy bait. Better keep searching.
Just to the right of Wenjie’s minicom, listen to the Singularity cassette.
You’ll get a lot of Lead updates and come up with something like a plan.
Go take out Wenjie (again) if you want to — the Residuum is nice to have — and then head for the exit.
Our next stop is Updaam at noon, but let’s take a quick detour first.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823295/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_3.png)
As you’re heading to the exit, watch for a bunker to the right of the tunnels. There’s a handful of Eternalists inside. Slip inside and take them all out. One of them will be carrying a pair of high quality handguns.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823296/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_4.png)
It’s worth repeating this time of day (afternoon) here (The Complex) a few times to loot these guns. The guns and their perks are random and the specifics will change, but one of the Eternalists will always drop them. We got a pair of silenced Tribunals by looting them a few times. We cannot recommend silenced handguns enough.
Visit 2-Bit
By nightfall, all visiting Wenjies will have gone home. The one remaining will be hard at work — unless 2-Bit has lured her to Updaam.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823299/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_5.png)
We’re heading back into Charlie’s Condition Detachment game. Get up to the third floor (you can be as quiet or loud as you’d like — we’re only here to talk to 2-Bit) and hack your way into 2-Bit’s room. Talk to him, and he’ll tell you to find a recording of Aleksis.
Finish the game and kill Charlie again if you want, and then head for the exit.
Find a Recording of Alexsis
2-Bit can create an authentic-sounding party invitation, provided he has enough source material of Alexsis’s voice.
We’re going to Updaam in the evening. There are several Leads all happening in Updaam at this point, but we’re only going to focus on “What Wenjies Want.”
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823301/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_6.png)
Take the left tunnel out of your bunker. We’ve got to get all the way across Updaam, we we’re going to take a back road as far as we can. Outside, defuse the lasermines, and start climbing up to street level. If you’re quick, you can take out the three Eternalists below you with Nexus.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823303/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_7.png)
Head into the Candy Bar on your left, and exit through the back door in the far right corner.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823307/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_8.png)
Take a right and follow the cliff edge until you hit the locked Horizon door. Cut over to the left along the narrow ledge, and use Shift to jump the gap. (If you don’t have Shift, you’ll have to take a right and follow the street through some sensors and Eternalists.)
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823309/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_9.png)
Keep following the cliff. You’ll come to a railing near some yellow buildings. Use Shift to work around to the left of the building. Follow the ledge and roof around, and jump to the ground.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823310/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_10.png)
Look over the railing to see a tunnel below you. Drop down and head inside.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823311/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_11.png)
Grab the Scribbled Notes document from the whiteboard as you pass. Follow the tunnel through to the other side — this lets us cross underneath the road.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823312/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_12.png)
Take a right and follow the ramp up. Take another right and hop across to the wolf’s head sculpture (you’ve seen it during this area’s loading screen). There are two Eternalists and a turret on the road below you. Commandeer the turret to take them out.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823313/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_13.png)
Head inside Dorsey Manor, and take an immediate left to start climbing some stairs. There’s a pair of Eternalists at the top, so have a quiet weapon and the Nexus Slab ready to take them out.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823315/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_14.png)
At the top of the stairs, take a right. Use the water tank on your left to climb up to the roof. Run along the rooftops toward the The Master’s Chambers marker.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823316/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_15.png)
Over the next roof peak, you’ll see a door next to some red “Party at the end of the world” graffiti. Head inside.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823318/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_16.png)
Drop through the hole in the floor across that room. Turn around, and look for a low tunnel with board across it. Kick through the boards and duck through. Pass through the next room and take a left at the TV. Go through the red doors, and cross to the white doors.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823319/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_17.png)
Check the table as soon as you walk in for the A Reason to Love note — that’s our next clue and contains a safe combination we need (remember that safe and door codes change for every game). While you’re here, take a left and go read Aleksis’s minicom. This will add a few details to other Leads. Take a left from the minicom, and then two rights through Aleksis’s bathroom to reach his closet. The The Sixty-Second Minute: Aleksis Dorsey document will be on your right.
When you’re done, head for the exit. Our next stop is Updaam at noon.
Retrieve the recording from the Library
There will be a recording of Aleksis in a safe delivered to the Library around noon. The code is ----.
With the code from the A Reason to Love note, let’s go grab that recording.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823320/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_18.png)
Follow the path we took at the start of “Space Invaders” to get to the Library. Conveniently (and a little creepily), the safe is in the center of the first floor and there aren’t any enemies around.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823322/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_19.png)
When you pick up The Runt, it won’t stop talking. The problem is that we have to take it through Condition Detachment to give it to 2-Bit. As you go, drop or throw The Runt while you deal with Eternalists. While carrying it, you can equip a handgun in your left hand, so do that.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22823324/Deathloop_What_Wenjies_Want_walkthrough_20.png)
It’s going to get messy, so just do your best to work your way through the game and reach 2-Bit however you see fit. Don’t worry about being quiet. When you reach 2-Bit’s room, give him the statuette.
You have four options here — choose Make Aleksis give Wenjie what she wants.
Afterward, choose the “Wait a minute … something doesn’t add up” and then the “C’mon Colt! You can’t leave him like that” options. This will make you a power user for 2-Bit. That’ll make things easier.
The Invitation
2-Bit designated me a “power user,” granting me unrestricted use of some of his more dangerous functions.
That completes “What Wenjies Want.” Head for the exit.
