Destiny 2: Beyond Light guide - How to make the Crux Convergence public event Heroic

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is here, and it brought a new planet into Destiny 2, Europa. Europa comes with a new Public Event. As always, you’ll need to solve the puzzle of how to turn this Public Event Heroic if you want to fight a harder boss and get better rewards.

Thankfully, we’ve solved that puzzle for you. Here’s how to Heroic the Crux Convergence Public Event in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

Triggering Heroic on the Crux Convergence Public Event

The Crux Convergence Public Event shows up in three locations on Europa, as far as we’ve seen so far: Cadmus Ridge, Asterion Abyss, and Eventide Ruins.

The basic idea of the Crux Convergence is simple. A Crux (those Darkness shards) will appear in an area as three Fallen Brigs stomp around. The Brigs have powerful overshields and you can’t damage them. But if you capture the Crux (stand under it for a bit), you’ll lower the overshield of one of the Brigs. Kill the mech and another Crux will spawn. Repeat this three times and you’ll finish the event.

The Heroic version is very easy, and you can complete it even if your random allies don’t know what to do — the best kind of Heroic Public Event.

Before you start capturing the Crux, look up and around the shard. You’ll see three Scanner Drones near the Crux. Destroy the Scanner Drones. Some fly around it and scan while others latch themselves to the side — you may have to get pretty close to see the ones latched onto the side. They look like tiny robots with red laser pointers coming out of them. Be vigilant and make sure you get them all before you capture the Crux.

Destroy all three Scanner Drones on all three Crux captures and you’ll turn the Public Event Heroic, summoning an even bigger Brig: the Fallen Commodore. Treat this Brig like all the others and shoot it until the faceplate pops off. Hit the engine underneath until it’s dead. Once you clean up the third and final Brig, as well as the Commodore, you’ll finish the Heroic Public Event.
