Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen’s Week 3 Seasonal Challenges arrived on Feb. 23, and in this guide we’ll show you how to complete them all.
Some Season 13 weekly Challenges are more involved than the others. Check out the descriptions below for advice on the fastest way to complete these Seasonal Challenges — particularly Captain’s Log, Failsafe Forward, and Iron Sharpens Iron — before they expire on May 11.
Contender’s Ascent 3
Challenge: Report to the War Table in the HELM and complete the “Challenger’s Proving III” quest.
Like every week this season, head to the HELM to grab your new quest and complete the objective. You’ll need to do this one for the War Table XP.
Golden Reaper
Challenge: Acquire Cabal Gold by playing Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, public events, and more. 300 total gold (cumulative over the course of the season).
You get Cabal Gold from basically any activity in Destiny 2, but you get the most Gold for your time in Strikes.
Crash and Converge
Challenge: Smash Tribute Chests and Focus Tier 3 Umbral Engrams. 15 total Tribute Chests and one Tier 3 Umbral Engram (cumulative over the course of the season).
To get this one, make sure you charge your Hammer of Proving with a Medallion and then run a Battleground. Smash the chest at the end to consume the Medallion. If you need help with the Hammer of Proving or making the Tier 3 Umbral, check out our guide.
Captain’s Log
Challenge: Leave no stone unturned aboard the Glykon. Discover five secrets.
This Challenge refers to the secret Catalyst for Dead Man’s Tale. You can either unlock the secret chests or scan some special items in the mission. To find the secrets chests for that mission, check out our guide. If you want to complete the Challenge in a single week, check out this video to find all the scannable items.
Failsafe Forward
Challenge: On Nessus, earn progress by completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
This Challenge is more of a pain than it seems. Failsafe only offers three bounties a day, so you’ll need around four days to complete this one. Focus on doing your bounties in Lost Sectors or doing public events to kill two birds with one stone.
Challenger’s Apogee
Challenge: Reach Power Level 1300 by earning powerful rewards and Prime Engrams.
This one takes some time, but you’ve likely been working toward it all season. Complete all the glowing challenges on your map each week — assuming they say Powerful or Pinnacle gear — and you’ll get this eventually.
Algorithmic Precision
Challenge: Calibrate weapons with precision final blows on Nessus.
This one is self-explanatory. While you’re doing Failsafe Forward, go for headshots.
Primeval Entourage
Challenge: Defeat Taken in Gambit. Earn bonus progress for defeating tougher combatants.
There are Taken in every Gambit match, but they’ll only spawn as Blockers from the enemy team or once you summon the Primeval. So the better you do in Gambit, the more Taken you’ll get the chance to kill.
Iron Sharpens Iron
Challenge: Complete Iron Banner matches. Earn bonus progress for wins.
All you have to do for this one is play Iron Banner, the monthly Crucible game mode. Unfortunately, it’s only around one week out of each month, so it’s easy to miss the Challenge if you aren’t paying attention. If you don’t complete it the week of Feb. 23, make sure you log back in in March or April when Iron Banner comes around.
Challenge Our Foes
Challenge: Complete playlist Strikes. Five total Strikes in the playlist.
This one is self-explanatory, and you’ll almost certainly complete it before May 11.
Make sure to finish all of these and the rest of the Seasonal Challenges if you want to complete the Master of All Challenge by May 11, which rewards a Large Bright Dust Pile.
