Destiny 2: Forsaken guide: How to hunt down each of the Spider’s bounties

Lost sector maps, boss guides, everything you need to became the ultimate Destiny hitman

Destiny 2: Forsaken - a Baron on his throne Bungie, High Moon Studios/Activision

The Spider is one of Destiny 2: Forsaken’s new NPCs, a Fallen mob boss down on his luck who’s going to try and weasel some work out of you. By offering up ghost fragments — which you can earn around the Tangled Shore, in activities like patrols and Public Events — you can buy contracts from the Spider to hunt down the galaxy’s most dangerous criminals. In exchange for your services, the Spider will offer you some legendary gear, which always includes a chance at an exotic — specifically the Lord of Wolves shotgun.

Hunting down criminals across the world of Destiny 2: Forsaken isn’t always easy, so we’ve put together a guide that has all of Spider’s bounties and their locations.

    Wanted Adventures

For more ghost fragments, the Spider will sell you a difficult bounty that promises a powerful reward at the end. This will set you off on an adventure, and each has unique requirements for killing them.

    The Blood Cleaver

    Bungie/Activision

The Blood Cleaver is hanging out on Io, in an Adventure somewhere on the map — it’s changed on us a few times. As you might imagine from his name, he’s a giant Cabal gladiator capable of messing you up with a single swing.

When you start the Adventure, make your way through the Lost Sector, killing everything you come across and walking through his weird suppression barrier. Things won’t get complicated until you reach the boss room.

After you find the Blood Cleaver, he’ll pop a shield and hide inside it. Unfortunately, you can’t fire any weapons inside the shield. You can’t Super or double jump either. You’ll need to destroy a node inside the shield, which can prove difficult.

There are a few strategies here:

    • First, you progress as intended and try and throw grenades or punch it to death. This can be long or difficult depending on which one you choose. The room is also filled with Cabal war dogs, so this strategy is also very dangerous.
    • The best strategy is actually to cheese it a bit and use a bow. Pull back the string, and then walk into the barrier while aiming at the node in the middle. The bow will release on its own, dealing damage to the node if the arrow hits.

Pick a strat and do it until the node explodes.

Once the node is gone, the Blood Cleaver will spawn deadly turrets around the room. Destroy them, and one of them will drop an arc charge. Carry the charge into the shield, dunk it, and the bubble will go down.

Now you can fight the boss as normal. However, his shield will eventually come back up, prompting you to do all of this over again. Once the boss is dead, turn your bounty in to reap some sweet rewards.

    Combustor Valus

Combustor Valus is on Mercury, in an Adventure that centers around the map’s only Lost Sector. This one is an Incinerator, and is actually pretty easy — especially with a Fireteam.

Go through the Lost Sector like normal, clearing out the Cabal and the Vex. Once you reach the boss, you’ll see a large shield in the middle of the room. You can’t take this shield down, and the boss will always stay inside. Also, when you go in, you’ll start burning, taking high damage.

Defeating enemies around the room has a chance for them to drop an overshield, which you can then use to walk into the shield and do some damage without dying. However, this actually isn’t needed most of the time, and you can ignore it if you have a Fireteam.

Your best bet here is to walk in, throw some grenades, use your heavy or even your Super, and walk out before you die. Eventually, you’ll kill the boss. Once he’s dead, turn in the bounty for a powerful reward.

    Silent Fang

The Silent Fang is in the EDZ. It’s a Fallen Captain surrounded by shields. Of the bosses listed here, the Silent Fang is one of the hardest. We recommend a Fireteam unless you’re a very high light level — around 560 or higher.

Start the Adventure and make your way through the Lost Sector as normal. Eventually, you’ll come across a barrier that you can’t cross. Next to the barrier will be a small machine that looks like a generator. Enemies will be all around you, including some elite Exploding Shanks. Take the Shanks down, and pick up the explosives that they drop. Chuck the explosive at the generator to take down the barrier.

Once you find the Silent Fang, you’ll need to repeat the process you learned earlier in the Lost Sector. Damage the boss until he brings up an immunity shield. Fight through the waves of enemies until more Exploding Shanks spawn. Kill them, take their explosives, and throw them at the generators around the room.

You’ll need to repeat this process until you’ve destroyed all of the generators. Once the boss falls to about a third of his health, all the generators should be gone, and he’ll still create an immunity shield. A nearby Servitor is sustaining the shield. You’ll need to take more explosives and kill the Servitor. This is, unfortunately, dependent on your light. It may take up to four explosives to it.

Once the Servitor is Dead, the Silent Fang will be all out of immunity. Take him down to complete the bounty.

    Gravetide Summoner

The Gravetide Summoner is one of the easier Wanted Adventures. Start on Titan and enter the lost sector. Run through the short zone until you reach the boss room. You don’t need to do anything special to get here.

Once you reach the boss room, you’ll find a Wizard. Shortly after discovery, the Wizard will summon a massive Ogre. This beast will have tons of health and you must defeat it. It’ll also send Thralls at you that’ll apply a small debuff. Just keep picking at the Ogre until it dies, and be wary of the other summoned Hive enemies that spawn from the Wizard.

After you’ve killed the Ogre, the Wizard will be vulnerable. Shred through its tiny health bar to clear this Wanted Adventure.
