Destiny 2: Forsaken allows players to earn nine new Supers — one for each subclass. While the first is fairly self explanatory, the other two are much more mysterious and difficult to get. In this guide, we’re going to teach you how to earn your first subclass fast, and where you can find the others.
Subclass one
This is the easy one, and you literally can’t miss it. After the Prison Break mission, you’ll return to the tower to talk to Zavala and Ikora. The later will give you the “New Powers” mission, which will ask you to collect visions of light.
After the mission, you’ll go down to the Tangled Shore, which is where you’ll be collecting all of your visions of light. Whenever you defeat an enemy with a non-red health bar — bosses, majors and the like— little blue specks will drop around them. Run around the corpse and pick them all up.
After the first mission in the Tangled Shore, you’ll be asked to complete some bounties for a new NPC. While you’re running around, look for Public Events to do. Make them Heroic Public Events, and you’ll be facing down all kinds of yellow bars. If you’re tagging the enemies and grabbing all the visions you can, you should be able to complete this step in two Heroic Public Events.
Once you’re full up on visions, go to Io and select the triangle mission. Go through the story and select the subclass of your choosing. To level it up and earn the three other perks, however, you’ll need to get kills with your grenade, Super, or melee override.
Subclass two
After you’ve beaten the campaign, you’ll go through the long and arduous task of attempting to enter the Dreaming City. When you arrive, you’ll gain access to a new activity called the Blind Well. Here, you’ll face down enemies in a large room through a horde-style mode.
The Blind Well has multiple tiers, each with its own consumable that you must use to start the encounter. While these tier keys can drop from the world, it’s probably easiest to just buy some from the Dreaming City vendor. But instead of Tier I, you want to be doing Tier II.
Take your Tier II key into the Blind Well and wait for the room to fill up a bit with new friends. Put the key into the center pillar where it says “Tier II,” and fight until the last wave. Now, you’ll need to defeat a big boss by gaining the Harmony buff from one of the glowing enemies, and breaking their shield.
Sadly, the Seed of Light needed to start the second subclass is a random drop from the final chest of Tier II. However, the drop rate seems fairly high, so if you don’t get it the first time, keep going. If you can swing a Tier III, it appears to be a guaranteed drop.
Once you’ve chosen your second subclass, you’ll need to upgrade it just like the first.
Subclass three
The third and final Seed of Light can be found in the Last Wish raid. After defeating the first boss, Kalli, all players will receive their final Seed of Light. We’ll have a guide for defeating Kalli soon.
Update (Sept. 14): Added details to subclass two and three.
