Destiny 2 has a lot of loot to give you, and not all of it pops out of the heads of your enemies. Like Destiny, Destiny 2 has plenty of vendors scattered around its futuristic world. Most of these vendors exist in a late game social space where all of our favorite characters gather to gift and sell you things. Other vendors live and operate on the four separate locations in the Destiny 2’s world.
Spoiler warning: This guide contains spoilers for content after the end of Destiny 2’s campaign.
Cayde-6, Vanguard Scout
Located in the Tower’s hanger, Cayde-6 will sell you two items that you can use on Patrol. Scout Reports are a consumable that highlights chests in a specific area for the next four hours, allowing you to farm easily. Cayde-6 also sells Treasure Maps, which highlight the locations of bountiful chests in that given week’s Flashpoint location.
Amanda Holliday, Chief Shipwright
Also located in the Tower hanger (next to Cayde-6), Chief Shipwright Amanda Holliday will sell you basic ships and vehicles (Sparrows). These Sparrows aren’t particularly fast or flashy.
Tess Everis, Eververse Trading Co.
Located in the courtyard of the Tower, Tess Everis of the Eververse Trading Co. is the bringer of microtransactions for Destiny 2. Here you can spend real-world money on Silver, a currency you can use to purchase packs of Bright Engrams. These engrams can offer all sorts of cosmetic goodies like new ships, shaders, Ghost shells, sparrows and weapon mods. Tess can also will decrypt Bright Engrams whenever you get them.
Kadi 55-30 and Darbi 55-30, Postmasters
Kadi 55-30, located in the Tower courtyard and Darbi 55-30, located on the Farm, are both Postmasters who will hold any loot that you might have missed along the way. Simply walk up and collect your loot.
Commander Zavala, Vanguard Tactical
Located in the Tower courtyard, Zavala is looking at the Traveler. He can offer you rewards for Strike missions. Whenever you complete a Strike, you will get Vanguard tokens. Turning these into Zavala will net you loot each time you level up. He will also give you access to the Nightfall Strike, a special, particularly difficult Strike that offers better rewards.
Lord Shaxx, The Crucible
Located in the Tower courtyard and in the Farm, Lord Shaxx is the overseer of the Crucible, Destiny 2’s multiplayer, PvP game mode. Similar to completing Strikes, finishing Crucible matches will net you Crucible tokens. Take these to Lord Shaxx, and he will offer you rewards.
Arcite 99-40, Crucible Gunsmith
Located at the Farm during the early parts of Destiny 2, Arcite 99-40 will sell you power appropriate gear. However, once you have finished the campaign and unlocked the Tower, Arcite will disappear entirely as a vendor. Instead, he will take his rightful place as Shaxx’s right hand robot and type away on a computer monitor in the courtyard.
Master Rahool, Cryptarch
Located in the Tower courtyard, Master Rahool has returned as the Cryptarch for Destiny 2. If you are unfamiliar with the Cryptarch role, it’s fairly simple. When you get an Exotic or Legendary Engram, take it to Master Rahool, and he will turn it into gear.
Tyra Karn, Cryptarch
Located at the Farm, Tyra Karn is yet another Cryptarch. She serves the exact same function as Master Rahool, so there is no reason to use her specifically once you have the Tower unlocked. However, if you have an engram and just happen to be back on the Farm, she will happily decrypt it for you.
Located just off to the side of the Tower courtyard, Banshee-44 now inhabits his own booth. Similar to vendors like Zavala and Shaxx, you can turn in items to Banshee-44 for loot. However, the acquisition of these items is a little different. Whenever you dismantle gear that is Rare or above, you will receive Gunsmith Materials, which you can then give to Banshee-44. Once you’ve given him enough, he will give you a Legendary weapon. He will also sell you mods for Glimmer and Mod Components, which can modify your equipment.
Ikora Rey, Vanguard Research
Located in the Tower bazaar, Ikora Rey allows you to replay old story missions. Speak to her, and you can select one of three weekly missions. Use the machine to her right to replay missions. When you complete these, you get Vanguard Research tokens, which you can turn into Ikora for loot.
Suraya Hawthorne, Clan Steward
Located in the Tower bazaar, Suraya Hawthorne is the Clan Steward. She will sell you some 200-power gear for a bit of Glimmer like many other vendors, but her main purpose it to give you your Clan banner and reward you for Clan activities. Each and every week you will be able to earn Clan experience in exchange for powerful gear. Hawthorne is the NPC that will give you this loot once you have earned it.
Devrim Kay, Dead Zone scout
Located at the church in the European Dead Zone’s Trostland, Dead Zone scout Devrim Kay will sell you loot and take your reputation tokens. When you turn in the EDZ tokens that you collect while gallivanting across Earth, Devrim will give you Legendary gear. He also sells green quality gear that caps out at 200 power.
Sloane, Field Commander
Located at Siren’s Watch on Titan, Field Commander Sloane will sell you 200-power green gear as well as trade Legendary loot for Arcology tokens. Similar to Devrim Kay and other planetary vendors, you can use the tokens you gain from completing Public Events and doing other activities on Titan to level up Sloane. When she levels up, she will gift you high level gear.
Failsafe, Exodus Black AI
Located in the Exodus Black on Nessus, Exodus Black AI Failsafe is a (mostly) friendly AI who will give you gear. You can offer up Nessus tokens to her for Legendary loot or buy her 200-power green gear for Glimmer.
Asher Mir, Fragmented Researcher
Located near the Rupture on Io, Fragmented Researcher Asher Mir is the last planetary vendor you will meet. Like the others, he will sell you power level 200 green gear as well as trade Io tokens for Legendary items.
Xur, Agent of the Nine
Xur is one of Destiny’s most infamous characters. He is a shady vendor that represents the mysterious Order of the Nine. He shows up weekly to sell you Exotic-level gear for a rare currency, Legendary shards. In Destiny 2, according to Bungie he will make his debut on Sept. 15, 2017. While we are unsure exactly where he will be, we do know that he will be trading exotics for Legendary shards.
