If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he can now appear all over the map. This week, he’s near the Watcher’s Grave fast travel point on Nessus, and there’s a helpful icon on the planet map to show you where he is.
Watch the above video for a quick review of Xur’s inventory this week, which consists of the following:
- Merciless, fusion rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Raiden Flux, Hunter chest piece: 23 Legendary Shards
- Doom Fang Pauldron, Titan gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock chest piece: 23 Legendary Shards
Each of the items is at a power level of 270 — a base power of 265, plus a legendary mod that raises the value by 5.
Our primary recommendation for the week is to pick up the Merciless. It’s a heavy weapon that can deal heavy damage to bosses and other strong enemies who won’t go down in one hit. Xur has a history of being stingy about powerful weapons, and we’re hoping to avoid another Gjallarhorn situation, where players missed out on buying one of Destiny’s best weapons.
We’ve edited the story to add the Legendary Shard costs and power values for each item in Xur’s inventory.
While Xur only hung around Friday through Sunday in the first Destiny, he’s now sticking around until Tuesday, according to the Destiny Companion app. “4 Days Remaining,” the app reads in bold letters just beneath the dates “September 15 - September 19.” We’ve updated this post’s headline and the thumbnail on the video, though we can’t edit out the actual audio. Either way, now you’ve got two more days each week to make sure you don’t miss out on another Gjallarhorn. No excuses.
