Here are Destiny 2’s faction weapons

What guns do Dead Orbit, Future War Cult and New Monarchy have?

Bungie/Activision

With today’s update, Destiny 2’s faction rally event is now live. If you’ve gotten to level 20 and beaten the campaign, when you make your way back to the Tower, you’ll be instructed to meet with each faction leader to learn more about their agenda and to hear their plea for your allegiance.

Each faction will offer up their own Destiny 2 faction gear for followers to wear. To get your hands on it, players will have to “gather resources and destroy enemy supplies” for each faction by completing standard Destiny 2 activities like Public Events, fighting in the Crucible, running the raid and the like. Doing so will also give you faction tokens that will increase your standing with each faction so you can get their loot, but there’s a secondary goal.

Each faction has its hands on an exclusive weapon. As Bungie detailed in a blog post, the faction with the most acquired resources after 2 a.m. PT on Oct. 3 will win. Players can increase the standings of their faction by completing activities on the behalf of their faction. After Oct. 3, the winning faction will sell its gun to its devotees for only 1,000 glimmer. Everyone else can purchase the winning faction’s gun for a hefty 50,000 glimmer.

So what does each faction have to offer?

Dead Orbit’s weapon - Haunted Earth (Scout Rifle)

Bungie/Activision

Arach Jalaal from Dead Orbit and his followers believe the Earth is doomed. They insist that humanity’s salvation is beyond the stars. If Dead Orbit is the winning faction, players will have access to Haunted Earth, an all-black scout rifle. The gun’s main trait is its “high-impact frame” which makes it slow-firing, yet powerful. It’s also more accurate when players are stationary and aiming down the sights. Not only that, it’s faster to reload when crouched. Dead Orbit is perfect for players who like the maintain a solid position and take out enemies from mid-range.

Future War Cult’s weapon - Heart of Time (pulse rifle)

Bungie/Activision

Lakshmi-2 and the followers of Future War Cult believe that the way to ensure the future of humanity is to prepare for war, so that our future and every future is secure. To make sure devotees of Future War Cult are prepared for any fight, if their faction wins, players will have access to Heart of Time, a colorful Omolon pulse rifle. To put the end to any fight, the Heart of Time has increased ammo reserves and offers a fast reload when each magazine is emptied. Its secondary trait also creates an elemental explosion for precision kills, making this the perfect tool for clearing waves of enemies.

New Monarchy’s weapon - Interregnum XVI (sidearm)

Bungie/Activision

Executor Hideo and the people of New Monarchy believe that Earth is our true home and that, through unity, we can bring it back to its former splendor. If the followers of New Monarchy are victorious, players will be able to purchase the Interregnum XVI, a red and gold sidearm. The handgun is fully automatic, has a large ammo reserve and gains a slightly faster reload when the magazine is emptied. Interregnum XVI has some optional tweaks that will increase its range, and its secondary trait makes it faster to aim down the sights. This sidearm is perfect for getting up close and personal, but still viable at a distance.

If any of these guns appeal to you, be sure to pledge your allegiance to each faction and rack up as many points as you can for them. You have until 2 a.m. PT on Oct. 3. At 10 a.m. PT that day, Bungie will declare a winner. So far, there is no word on whether or not losing faction weapons will be available after this event.
