Head to Titan for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and now appears all over the map. This week, he’s on Titan. You can find Xur hanging out inside a small room to the east of The Rig landing zone.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Tractor Cannon, Exotic shotgun: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Gemini Jester, Exotic Hunter legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Snythoceps, Exotic Titan gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Sanguine Alchemy, Exotic Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram: 97 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory to caps out at 581 if you’re at 600 power — one Light above your Collection. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.

TRACTOR CANNON

Tractor Cannon is an exotic shotgun. Its exotic perk, Repulsor Force, causes the weapon to fire powerful impulses that push enemies away from the user. Its secondary perk, The Scientific Method, makes damaging opponents temporarily increase the weapon’s stats. It now also amplifies damage and suppresses enemies hit by it.

Tractor Cannon is an extremely powerful gun in Destiny 2 at the moment. The ability to amplify damage — which is increased while using Void — is very powerful when running strikes or even the raid. However, Tractor Cannon shines as one of the most frustrating and powerful weapons in the Crucible, where it can remove an enemy Super and likely kill the Guardian in a single shot. You need Tractor Cannon in Destiny 2, even if using it makes you a jerk.

GEMINI JESTER

Gemini Jester is one of the new exotics added in Curse of Osiris. Its main exotic perk is Misdirection. If you dodge when near an enemy, you’ll disorient them, removing their radar if they’re a human player. This is a decent PvP exotic if you’re sick of running the classics. Just beware that you need to be close to be effective.

This week’s roll: All mobility, with a choice between mobility and resilience. Tier one gives a choice between fusion rifle dexterity, hand cannon dexterity and bomber — reduced grenade cooldown after using your class ability. Tier two offers scout rifle scavenger and special ammo finder. This is an OK roll for PvP, but the stats aren’t too great for any activity.

Synthoceps

Destiny 2 patch 1.2.1 brought changes to Exotic armor. As we wrote near the patch’s release, “The Synthoceps will now buff melee damage and super damage by a flat amount for a full eight seconds after being surrounded by three or more enemies. This is potentially a very powerful Exotic now.”

Its Biotic Enhancements intrinsic perk offers “increased melee lunge range” as well as “improved melee and Super damage when surrounded.” This is one of the most powerful Titan exotics in the game and always benefits you for wearing them. If you don’t have these, buy them!

This week’s roll: Medium resilience and low recovery, with a choice between resilience and recovery. Tier one offers a choice between hand cannon loader, fusion rifle loader and impact induction — melee damage refunds grenade energy. Tier two gives the choice between shotgun scavenger and heavy ammo finder. This is a fantastic roll for PvP, and you should definitely pick it up this week.

SANGUINE ALCHEMY

Sanguine Alchemy is a gorgeous Warlock chest with a pretty interesting PvP perk. Heightened Senses gives you a more detailed radar and marks priority targets near you while standing in your rift. While this perk does force you to stand relatively still, it gives you a great opportunity to know your enemy’s movements before they ever get the chance to move against you. If you love playing PvP on your Warlock, give this chest a shot.

This week’s roll: Low resilience and mobility with medium recovery, with a choice between mobility and recovery. Tier one offers a choice between unflinching bow aim, unflinching sniper rifle aim and unflinching fusion rifle aim. Tier two gives the choice between scout rifle reserves and special ammo finder. This roll is not good, but is still better than the one in the Collection. But unless you use the Collection roll of this Exotic every day, you’re better off skipping this one.
