If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and now appears all over the map. This week, he’s on Nessus. You can find Xur hanging out just north of the Watcher’s Grave, taking in the sights from the top of a tree.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Riskrunner, submachine gun: 29 Legendary Shards
- Young Ahamkara’s Spine, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Armamentarium, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Karnstein Armlets, Warlock gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory to caps out at 581 if you’re at 600 power — one Light above your Collection. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.
Riskrunner
Riskrunner is an interesting exotic, although it’s rarely useful. Be sure to check your vault before you buy, as this is one of the few exotics that Asher offers to you during the campaign.
The exotic perk, Arc Conductor, causes any Arc damage you take to empower your weapon. While Arc Conductor is active, you’ll take reduced Arc damage. This plays in well to its other perk, Superconductor, which causes the bullets fired to chain lightning between enemies when empowered with Arc Conductor, as well as fire endlessly without reloading. Killing enemies while Arc Conductor is active resets the timer.
If you can find a situation where taking Arc Damage is frequent, like the end encounter on the Exodus Crash strike, Riskrunner can be very fun and helpful. Without incoming Arc damage, this gun is essentially just a normal SMG, although still powerful. If you don’t have Riskrunner, you need to pick it up.
Young Ahamkara’s Spine
Young Ahamkara’s Spine is fairly unremarkable as far as exotics go. Its main perk, Wish-Dragon Teeth, increases the length and blast radius of your tripmine grenades and returns energy to your grenade slot when you damage enemies with abilities. This is situational at best in PvP and almost useless in PvE. A situational PvP exotic doesn’t cut it when Hunters already have very good PvP catchalls like the Foetracer helmet. If you’re trying collect all of the exotics and you’re missing these, Young Ahamkara’s Spine is for you. Otherwise, you’ve no reason to waste your Legendary Shards.
This week’s roll: This week’s roll has low resilience, mobility and recovery, with a choice between mobility and resilience. Slot one offers fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, and impact induction — melee damage reduces grenade cooldown. Slot two offers sniper rifle scavenger and machine gun scavenger. This roll is actually pretty great, especially if you don’t have any gauntlets with machine gun scavenger yet.
Armamentarium
The Armamentarium is a pretty simple chest piece. Its exotic perk is And Another Thing, which causes you to gain another grenade charge regardless of the subclass you’re using. This perk is great — or it would be if Striker Titans didn’t already have two grenades. The other Titan subclasses have far less powerful grenades and better exotics in Hallowfire Heart and Mask of the Quiet One.
However, Armamentarium is still a great chest piece to grab if you don’t like those other exotics or if you want to run the other Striker tree. If you like Titans and grenades, you should at least pick this one up.
This week’s roll: High resilience, low recovery, with a choice between recovery and resilience. Tier one gives a choice between unflinching bow aim, unflinching fusion aim and unflinching kinetic aim. Tier two offers scout rifle reserves and special ammo finder. These perks are pretty decent, and the exotic is a godsend. This is a decent roll, and worth picking up if you don’t like the roll from Collections.
Karnstein Armlets
The Karnstein Armlets are fun, powerful Warlock Exotics. The Exotic perk, Vampire’s Caress, will grant a large amount of health on a melee kill and also apply a heal over time to the user. Karnstein Armlets are must-have gauntlets for any warlock player. They are very powerful in PvE and PvP. Do not let these pass you by if you don’t have them yet.
