If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he can now appear all over the map. This week, he’s on Titan, and there’s a helpful icon on the planet map to show you where he is. You can find Xur just east of The Rig landing zone, standing just inside doorway.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Telesto, Exotic fusion rifle: 29 legendary shards
- Fr0st-EE5, Hunter legs: 23 legendary shards
- Eternal Warrior, Titan helmet: 23 legendary shards
- Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock robes: 23 legendary shards
- Fated Engram: 97 legendary shards
- Three of Coins: 31 legendary shards
- Five of Swords: free
Each of the items comes at a maximum power level of 345 — a base power of 340, plus a legendary (purple) mod that raises the value by five. This scales to your character’s power level, so make sure you’re buying Xur exotics on your highest-level character.
TELESTO
Telesto is a returning exotic from Destiny, added back in during Curse of Osiris. This fan-favorite fusion rifle has two perks that make it special. First is Unplanned Reprive. When you fire Telesto, the fusion rifle particles attach to the enemy and explode. Second, Harbinger’s Pulse causes multikills to reload your kinetic and energy weapons.
Telesto is easily one of the most fun weapons to use in Destiny 2. It’s very powerful in strikes and public events for clearing large groups of enemies or dealing with a single threat. But more importantly, Telesto simply feels exotic every time you fire it. Don’t pass up the opportunity to add Telesto to your armory.
FR0ST-EE5
Fr0st-EE5 is a returning exotic from Destiny. Its intrinsic perk is Rapid Cooldown. When sprinting, your dodge, melee, and grenade energy will rapidly recharge. Dodging will also increase your sprint speed.
Fr0st-EE5 has some fun perk design that feeds into itself in a neat way. The actual usefulness of the perk is a whole different question, however. Hunters have so many good exotics, that even if Fr0st-EE5’s regeneration was incredible, it wouldn’t be worth wearing over Celestial Nighthawk, Foetracer, or Orpheus Rig. If you play a lot of PvP and you don’t like Foetracer for some reason, these could offer you some nice bonuses. Otherwise, skip the Fr0st-EE5s.
ETERNAL WARRIOR
Eternal Warrior is a returning Titan helmet from Destiny. This time around, Eternal Warrior the Resolute intrinsic perk. When activating Fists of Havoc — the Striker Titan super — you’ll gain an overshield.
This is a hard exotic to place. Activating your super already gives you bonus defense, so an overshield would make you essentially invincible. If you play Striker in highly difficult content — like Trials of the Nine or the raid — this is a great helmet to wear when you don’t need anything else.
WINGS OF SACRED DAWN
Wings of Sacred Dawn is one of the weirdest looking exotics in all of Destiny 2. Its exotic perk, Tome of Sacred Dawn, allows you to hover while aiming in the air, keeping you suspended for a short period of time. The more precision hits you get like this, the longer you stay up.
Wings of Sacred Dawn is very fun to use but requires you to equip Dawnblade. Thankfully, Dawnblade has recently been buffed, making it far more viable than it used to be. If you like floating in the air and flinging fire, check this exotic out.
FATED ENGRAM
The Fated Engram is new as of Destiny 2’s mid-December 2017 update. Buying one may be expensive, but it guarantees you an exotic that you don’t have. If you find yourself drowning in legendary shards and missing a few key exotics, this is a pretty great way to spend your shards. You can only get one per account, once a week.
THREE OF COINS
This old farming buff has returned from the Destiny graveyard to help you farm exotics. Also new as of Dec. 12, Three of Coins is a four-hour buff that increases the odds of exotic engrams dropping in the wild. Bungie clarified their effectiveness, and they don’t seem particularly worth the steep legendary shard cost at the moment.
FIVE OF SWORDS
Xur is now selling an upgrade for your Nightfall challenge card. It allows you to increase your score multiplayer on the Prestige Nightfall, allowing you to get more points each time you run it.
