Destiny 2 Xur location and items, July 27-30

Head to the EDZ for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he can now appear all over the map. This week, he’s in the EDZ, and there’s a helpful icon on the planet map to show you where he is. You can find Xur hiding out just north of the Winding Cove landing zone, hanging out by a Fallen Ketch.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Huckleberry, Exotic submachine gun: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves, Exotic Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Crest of Alpha Lupi, Exotic Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Eye of Another World, Exotic Warlock helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Three of Coins: 31 Legendary Shards

Each of the items comes at a maximum power level of 345 — a base power of 340, plus a Legendary (purple) mod that raises the value by five. This scales to your character’s power level, so make sure you’re buying Xur Exotics on your highest level character.

The Huckleberry is a brand-new exotic in Warmind. Its intrinsic perk is Ride the Bull, which causes the gun to fire faster and have increased recoil the longer you hold the trigger. Kills with the gun partially reload the magazine. The Huckleberry’s secondary perk is rampage, which causes each kill to increase your damage for a short time.

The Huckleberry is a very fun gun to use. Its perks combine to offer you a little mini-game of trying to fire for as long as you possibly can without having to reload. It may not be particularly useful in a lot of end-game content — although it has some PvP potential — but it’s a blast to use in Adventures, Public Events and Escalation Protocol. Pick up The Huckleberry if you can afford it.

Destiny 2’s armor changed recently, and Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves typify those changes. As we wrote in late May, “Hunter gauntlets Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves previously offered a weak perk: the ability to ready and reload a sidearm more quickly. Next week, that will change: Swapping to a sidearm while critically wounded will greatly increase its damage.”

Its Spring-Loaded Mounting intrinsic perk “increases sidearm ready and reload speed. When you’re critically wounded, swapping to a sidearm increases its range,” according to the in-game description. You can also choose between increased mobility and increased resilience traits.

The Crest of Alpha Lupi is an awesome Titan chest piece. Its exotic perk, Survival Well, causes supers to generate more orbs of light. Barricade will start health regeneration for nearby allies when deployed, too. This is great for some PvE content and extremely powerful in competitive PvP. Don’t miss this chest piece.

You may already have Eye of Another World if you selected it from Sloane right before the Utopia campaign mission. The Cerebral Uplink perk will highlight targets for you and passively increase the regeneration of your grenade, melee and Rift abilities. It’s certainly worth picking up if you don’t have it yet.

This old farming buff has returned from the Destiny graveyard to help you farm Exotics. Three of Coins is a four-hour buff that increases the odds of Exotic engrams dropping in the wild. Bungie clarified their effectiveness, and they don’t seem particularly worth the steep Legendary Shard cost at the moment.
