Head to The Tower for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur
Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on The Tower, standing in The Hangar.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Suros Regime, Auto Rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Liar’s Handshake, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Synthoceps, Titan gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Geomag Stabilizers, Warlock boots: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
  • Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory caps out at 931 if you’re 950. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.

Suros Regime

Suros Regime is a fan favorite Destiny auto rifle that returned to Destiny 2 in the Warmind expansion. Its first exotic perk is Suros Legacy, which causes the bottom half of each magazine to deal bonus damage and have a chance to return player health on kills.

The second exotic perk is actually a choice between Spinning Up and Dual Speed Receiver. Spinning Up causes the firing speed of Suros Regime to rise the longer you hold the trigger. Dual Speed Receiver causes Suros Regime to deal more damage when aiming down sights but fire much slower.

Suros Regime allows changing play style on the fly, depending on the type of enemy you’re dealing with. There’s a reason so many players loved this gun in Destiny. On top of some great perks, it feels genuinely great to fire at enemies. This is a must-have gun for all players.

Liar’s Handshake

Liar’s Handshake is a Hunter exclusive exotic that gives your melees a little bit of extra kick. Their ability is called Cross Counter and whenever you use an Arc melee ability or are hit with a melee attack they’ll increase the damage of your next melee and let it heal you. If you’re headed somewhere with plenty of up-close-and-personal fighting these should give you a nice extra boost in damage and might even get you out of a tight spot.

Xur’s roll this week is Arc, and comes with 48 total stats.

Synthoceps

Destiny 2 patch 1.2.1 brought changes to Exotic armor. As we wrote near the patch’s release, “The Synthoceps will now buff melee damage and super damage by a flat amount for a full eight seconds after being surrounded by three or more enemies. This is potentially a very powerful Exotic now.”

Its Biotic Enhancements intrinsic perk offers “increased melee lunge range” as well as “improved melee and Super damage when surrounded.” This is one of the most powerful Titan exotics in the game and always benefits you for wearing them. If you don’t have these, buy them!

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 48 total stats.

Geomag Stabilizers

Geomag Stabilizers are Exotic boots introduced in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Its Exotic perk is Close Enough, which recharges your Chaos Reach Super when you sprint as long as you’re at about 90 percent energy. Damaging enemies with Chaos Reach also extends the duration. This is a fantastic Warlock Exotic. If you don’t have them yet, make sure to pick these up.

Xur’s roll this week is Arc, and comes with 49 total stats.

Invitation

If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
