Head to Nessus for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur
Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, standing on Calus’ barge.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Vigilance Wing, pulse rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Lucky Pants, Hunter legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Peacekeepers, Titan legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Nezarec’s Sin, Warlock helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
  • Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory caps out at 931 if you’re 950. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.

Vigilance Wing

Vigilance Wing is one of Destiny 2’s coolest and most unique exotic weapons. It’s a pulse rifle that, due to the exotic perk Harsh Truths, fires in five-round bursts instead of three. (Harsh Truths also provides healing when an ally dies.) Vigilance Wing can do very high damage very quickly, especially if you hit an enemy in their critical spot.

The second exotic perk, Last Stand, gives better stability and handling when you are the last living member of your fireteam. Vigilance Wing is a PvP exotic through and through. That isn’t to say that you can’t use it in PvE, but it’s designed for action against real players.

After Forsaken and the time to kill adjustments, Vigilance Wing has lost some serious power when compared to other tools in the Crucible. However, it’s still a fun gun to use and extremely unique.

Lucky Pants

Lucky Pants are fairly worthless in most situations. They’re also one of the exotics that Sloane offers you during the campaign. Their exotic perk, Illegally Modded Holster, allows you to ready hand cannons very quickly as well as increase accuracy for your first shot. Additionally, precision hits partially reload any stowed hand cannons. If you absolutely must use hand cannons in both your energy and kinetic slot, these pants are for you. Otherwise, skip Lucky Pants.

Xur’s roll this week is Void, and comes with 48 total stats.

Peacekeepers

Peacekeepers are for the submachine gun enthusiast. Its exotic perk, Mecha Holster, will reload submachine guns when you store them and allow you to ready them instantly. This is OK at best. If you love submachine guns and want to roll with one or even two all the time, these are the pants for you. If not, you’ll probably find something else worth your Legendary Shards.

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 50 total stats.

Nezarec’s Sin

Nezarec’s Sin isn’t a particularly exciting Warlock helmet, but it’s very good. The main perk is Abyssal Extractors, which causes Void damage kills to recharge your ability energy. Boring but effective. This includes void damage from your subclass and from your energy or power weapons. If you play Voidwalker ever or have a Void Uriel’s Gift that you use all the time, pick up this great helmet.

Xur’s roll this week is Void, and comes with 46 total stats.

Invitation

If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
