Destiny 2 Xur location and items, Nov. 8-11

Head to the EDZ for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur
Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, standing on a bluff next to a Fallen ship.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Riskrunner, submachine gun: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fr0st-EE5s, Hunter legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Eternal Warrior, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Transversive Steps, Warlock legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
  • Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory caps out at 931 if you’re 950. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.

Riskrunner

Riskrunner is an interesting exotic, although it’s rarely useful. Be sure to check your vault before you buy, as this is one of the few exotics that Asher offers to you during the campaign.

The exotic perk, Arc Conductor, causes any Arc damage you take to empower your weapon. While Arc Conductor is active, you’ll take reduced Arc damage. This plays in well to its other perk, Superconductor, which causes the bullets fired to chain lightning between enemies when empowered with Arc Conductor, as well as fire endlessly without reloading. Killing enemies while Arc Conductor is active resets the timer.

If you can find a situation where taking Arc Damage is frequent, like the end encounter on the Exodus Crash strike, Riskrunner can be very fun and helpful. Without incoming Arc damage, this gun is essentially just a normal SMG, although still powerful. If you don’t have Riskrunner, you need to pick it up.

Fr0st-EE5s

Fr0st-EE5 is a returning exotic from Destiny. Its intrinsic perk is Rapid Cooldown. When sprinting, your dodge, melee, and grenade energy will rapidly recharge. Dodging will also increase your sprint speed.

Fr0st-EE5 has some fun perk design that feeds into itself in a neat way. The actual usefulness of the perk is a whole different question, however. Hunters have so many good exotics that, even if Fr0st-EE5’s regeneration was incredible, it wouldn’t be worth wearing over Celestial Nighthawk, Foetracer, or Orpheus Rig. Although if you play a lot of PvP and you don’t like Foetracer for some reason, these could offer you some nice bonuses.

These boots have also gotten some strange love when farming for Nightfall weapons or speed running content. If you’re a Hunter main and you don’t have this yet, don’t skip them. But we wouldn’t recommend picking them up if Hunter isn’t your go-to class.

Xur’s roll this week is Arc, and comes with 48 total stats.

Eternal Warrior

Eternal Warrior is a returning Titan helmet from Destiny. This time around, Eternal Warrior the Resolute intrinsic perk. When activating Fists of Havoc — the Striker Titan super — you’ll gain an overshield.

This is a hard exotic to place. Activating your super already gives you bonus defense, so an overshield would make you essentially invincible. If you play Striker in highly difficult content — like Trials of the Nine or the raid — this is a great helmet to wear when you don’t need anything else.

Xur’s roll this week is Arc, and comes with 48 total stats.

Transversive Steps

Transversive Steps are the Warlock speedy boots, and they’re a very good catch-all exotic. Their exotic perk, Strange Protractor, increases your sprint speed and automatically reloads your energy weapons. The reloading is secondary to just how powerful movement speed is in Destiny 2. Make sure to pick them up if you don’t have them yet.

Xur’s roll this week is Arc, and comes with 48 total stats.

Invitation

If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
