Head to Nessus for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, standing on Calus’ barge in the Watcher’s Grave.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Prometheus Lens, trace rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Young Ahamkara’s Spine, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Hallowfire Heart, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Wings of Sacred Dawn, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
  • Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory caps out at 941 if you’re 960.

Prometheus Lens

Prometheus Lens is a new exotic in Curse of Osiris. It used to be one of the most powerful weapons in all of Destiny 2, when a bug (now fixed) caused it to deal ludicrous damage in PvP. Prometheus Lens is still awesome for clearing out large crowds of enemies all at once.

The main perk, Prismatic Inferno, causes Prometheus Lens’ beam to grow in size the longer you hold down the trigger. This allows the trace rifle to deal considerable damage in a large area. The gun’s secondary ability, Flame Refraction, makes the first perk even better, allowing kills to return ammo back into the magazine. The more kills you get, the longer you can hold down the trigger and increase your area of damage. It’s a fun gun and definitely worth the legendary shards.

Young Ahamkara’s Spine

Young Ahamkara’s Spine is fairly unremarkable as far as exotics go. Its main perk, Wish-Dragon Teeth, increases the length and blast radius of your tripmine grenades and returns energy to your grenade slot when you damage enemies with abilities. This is situational at best in PvP and almost useless in PvE. A situational PvP exotic doesn’t cut it when Hunters already have very good PvP catchalls like the Foetracer helmet. If you’re trying collect all of the exotics and you’re missing these, Young Ahamkara’s Spine is for you. Otherwise, you’ve no reason to waste your Legendary Shards.

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 46 total stats.

Hallowfire Heart

This is a pretty situational exotic chest piece. The main perk is Sunfire Furnace, which improves the recharge rate of your abilities when Hammer of Sol is charged. This exotic forces you to play Sunbreaker, which is great, since it’s probably the Titan class you’re using thanks to Hammer Strike.

Hallowfire Heart will only benefit you when you are holding onto your Super and not using it — it definitely takes some getting used to. This is one of our favorite Titan exotics nonetheless, and can be really powerful if you learn how to use it.

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 49 total stats.

Wings of Sacred Dawn

Wings of Sacred Dawn is one of the weirdest looking exotics in all of Destiny 2. Its exotic perk, Tome of Sacred Dawn, allows you to hover while aiming in the air, keeping you suspended for a short period of time. The more precision hits you get like this, the longer you stay up.

Wings of Sacred Dawn is very fun to use but requires you to equip Dawnblade. Thankfully, Dawnblade has recently been buffed, making it far more viable than it used to be. If you like floating in the air and flinging fire, check this exotic out.

Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 51 total stats.

Invitation

If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
