Destiny 2 Xur location and items, March 1-4

Head to Nessus for some exotics

Destiny 2 Xur

If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, he’s on Nessus. You can find Xur hanging out north of the Watcher’s Grave, hanging out on a tree.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • The Colony, exotic grenade launcher: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Knucklehead Radar, Hunter helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Peacekeepers, Titan legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Claws of Ahamkara, Warlock gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards

Xur’s inventory caps out at 631 if you’re at 650 power. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.

The Colony

The Colony is a new grenade launcher introduced in the Curse of Osiris expansion. Its exotic perk, Insectoid Robot Grenades, causes missed shots to turn into little robots that track down nearby enemies. Its secondary perk, Serve the Colony, automatically reloads the clip if the weapon is stowed for a short period of time.

This gun is extremely fun to use and packs a punch in PvP. Like Sweet Business, Coldheart and a few other weapons in Destiny 2, The Colony really feels like it earns its exotic title. It’s unique and a blast to carry around with you on a regular basis. No matter what you enjoy doing in Destiny 2, Legendary Shards spent on The Colony will be Shards well spent.

Knucklehead Radar

Knucklehead Radar is a powerful PvP Hunter helmet. Its exotic perk, Upgraded Sensor Pack, will constantly provide you with a radar, even while aiming down sites. This is a great helmet in PvP or Trials, where your radar is extremely important. However, the MIDA Multi-Tool and Ace of Spades have a similar perk, which could make the helmet redundant. For that reason, it’s not as powerful as something like Foetracer. If you don’t have this helmet yet, pick it up and keep it with you for PvP emergencies.

This week’s roll: This week’s roll has low mobility, medium recovery, with a choice between recovery and resilience. Slot one offers fusion rifle targeting, hand cannon targeting and Hands-on — melee kills grant Super energy. Slot two offers sniper rifle reserves and machine gun reserves. This roll isn’t too bad if you like hand cannons. Consider picking it up if you use this helmet regularly.

This week’s roll:

Slot 1: Slot one offers fusion rifle targeting, hand cannon targeting and Hands-on — melee kills grant Super energy

Slot 2: Slot two offers sniper rifle reserves and machine gun reserves

This roll is decent. Hand cannon targeting is good if you love using hand cannons. Machine gun reserves are great in most activities. This roll is fine but the exotic is mediocre. There are so many other items that allow you to hold on to your radar. Unless this is missing from your collection, pass on Knucklehead this week.

Peacekeepers

Peacekeepers are for the submachine gun enthusiast. Its exotic perk, Mecha Holster, will reload submachine guns when you store them and allow you to ready them instantly. This is OK at best. If you love submachine guns and want to roll with one or even two all the time, these are the pants for you. If not, you’ll probably find something else worth your Legendary Shards.

This week’s roll:

Slot 1: Fusion rifle dexterity, hand cannon dexterity, outreach (melee cooldown is reduced after using Barricade)

Slot 2: Scout rifle scavenger, special ammo finder

This is a bad roll of a very situational exotic. Peacekeepers are all about using submachine guns, but none of these perks really benefit a loadout that pairs well with an SMG. If you’re a submachine gun user on the regular, you’re better off praying for a random roll of Peacekeepers than this.

Claws of Ahamkara

The Claws of Ahamkara are Warlock gauntlets added in Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion. Their exotic perk, The Whispers, grants any Warlock that wears these gloves an extra melee charge. Warlocks have some pretty powerful melee abilities, so these are great gloves if you love getting up close with your enemies.

This week’s roll:

Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, impact induction (melee damage reduces grenade cooldown)

Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger

This is a good roll on a decent Warlock exotic. Hand cannons are very popular and machine guns are useful in most situations. This exotic is fun and useful in some situations. If you’re used to playing Titan and want to try out hitting stuff with a Warlock, check out these gloves.
