If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, he’s in the Tower. You can find Xur hanging out in the Hangar, on some stairs north of the Dead Orbit vendor.
Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Trinity Ghoul, Exotic bow: 29 Legendary Shards
- Oathkeeper, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Ursa Furiosa, Titan gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Ophidian Aspect, Warlock gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory should cap out at 681 if you’re 700. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.
Trinity Ghoul
Trinity Ghouls is a new bow from Forsaken. Its Exotic perk is Split Electron, which causes the arrow fired to split into three. When you get a precision kill with Trinity Ghoul, you’ll charge the next arrow with electricity, thanks to the Lightning Rod perk. Charged arrows chain electricity to enemies.
Trinity Ghoul is one of the more fun exotics from Forsaken. It can be really useful for clearing out large groups of enemies in strikes or just taking on a public event. Unfortunately, the bow’s charge time makes it difficult to use in more hectic situations like raids or even Nightfalls. Despite this major drawback, Trinity Ghoul is a must have if you haven’t added it to your collection yet.
Oathkeeper
Oathkeeper is a new set of Exotic gauntlets from Forsaken. Its Exotic perk is Adamantine Brace, which lets you hold arrows at the perfect draw timing forever. These gauntlets have limited uses, but are perfect pickups for players that just want to run around and use bows in every activity. Bows have a sweet spot as soon as the arrow is ready. It’s called a perfect draw, and makes the bow deal more damage or even activate unique perks. If you’re struggling to nail those, Oathkeeper will make sure you always do.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, impact induction (melee damage reduces grenade cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger
This roll is good and offers some powerful perks for popular weapon types. Unfortunately, there are no bow perks on this, so you’ll only be able to buff your secondary weapon or heavy. But Oathkeeper is still fun for bow enthusiasts. If it’s missing from your inventory, rectify that this week.
Ursa Furiosa
Ursa Furiosa is a set of Exotic gauntlets from Forsaken. Its Exotic perk is Ursine Guard, which refunds Super energy when you block damage with Sentinel Shield. You also move faster with Sentinel Shield active. There was a time when these Exotics were dominant, but they’ve since been nerfed into being underwhelming. If you love running Sentinel Shield, or it’s missing from your collection, pick these up.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, impact induction (melee damage reduces grenade cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger
This roll is good and offers some powerful perks for popular weapon types. With Sentinel Shield, you probably want to stay up close or at least medium range, making all the perks in slot 1 appealing. If you’re looking for a good roll on Ursa Furiosa, this is a great week to pick it up.
Ophidian Aspect
The Ophidian Aspect gauntlets were first released with the Curse of Osiris DLC. Their exotic perk is Cobra Totemic, which causes weapons handled by the wearer to ready and reload faster than normal. As a bonus, melee range is also extended. These are great “any time” exotics. No matter what kind of activity you’re doing, you’d be better off wearing these gauntlets than not. Pick them up for yourself and see what you think.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, impact induction (melee damage reduces grenade cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger
This is a good roll on a decent Warlock exotic. If you’re looking for something to wear that’s subclass agnostic, these are still pretty good gloves with pretty good perks for popular weapons. Pick them up.
