If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, he’s on Titan. You can find Xur hanging out to the east of The Rig, taking shelter from the rain in a small building.
Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- DARCI, Exotic sniper rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Gwisin Vest, Hunter chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Antaeus Wards, Titan boots: 23 Legendary Shards
- Winter’s Guile, Warlock gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory should cap out at 681 if you’re 700. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces. We’ve highlighted any great rolls below.
The exotic perk on DARCI is Personal Assistant, which causes the gun to highlight critical information about the target when you’re aiming down the site. While this bonus is active, DARCI will have better lock-on and deal more precision damage. DARCI used to be pretty bad, but buffs over the summer actually made it pretty powerful. However, it’s still not Sleeper or Whisper of the Worm. If you’re looking for a precision instrument of boss death, look elsewhere. But DARCI is still a fun weapon to use, and being not as good as the competition certainly doesn’t make it bad. If you don’t have DARCI yet, consider picking it up.
Gwisin Vest is a new Hunter chest from the Forsaken expansion. Its main perk, Roving Assassin, refunds Super energy after getting a kill and re-entering stealth. This is a very powerful PvP Exotic. With how strong Spectral Blades is in PvP, this is a must have Exotic for any Hunter.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Unflinching bow aim, unflinching fusion rifle aim, unflinching Kinetic aim
Slot 2: Scout rifle reserves, special ammo finder
Unflinching perks are useful in PvP, making this a great roll on a perfect PvP Exotic. Unflinching Kinetic is especially good, since it applies to every weapon in the Kinetic slot. Even if you already have Gwisin Vest, this week’s roll is a must have.
Antaeus Wards is a new Exotic from the Forsaken expansion. Its main perk is Reflective Vents. When you slide, Antaeus Wards project a shield in front of you. Any projectiles that hit the shield reflect back at their owner. Every deflection grants you Super energy. These boots are flashy, but not particularly practical. If you want to make a great highlight video, you should pick these up.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle dexterity, hand cannon dexterity, Outreach (class ability reduces melee cooldown)
Slot 2: Scout rifle scavenger, special ammo finder
This roll is OK. Hand cannon dexterity could be good if you’re sliding around all the time — which you should probably be doing with these boots. Other than that, there’s nothing particularly special about this roll. If you’re missing Antaeus Wards from your collection, it’s still worth picking up.
Winter’s Guile is a pretty sub-par exotic. The Warlord’s Sigil increases your melee damage after a melee kill. As you might imagine, this is very situational and rarely useful. Don’t worry about these unless you’re trying to fill our your collection.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Fusion rifle loader, hand cannon loader, impact induction (melee damage reduces grenade cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper rifle scavenger, machine gun scavenger
This roll has some nice synergy. Impact Induction is a great perk on this Exotic, since it already gives you an incentive to use melee attacks. Machine gun scavenger is also just a great perk on any piece of gear. If you’re a Warlock fan and like getting up close, pick this roll up.
This item starts the Invitation of the Nine quest. This week, Xur offers The Magician. It’ll cost you nine Legendary Shards.
