After you’ve earned Outbreak Perfected and the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst, you still have work to do in Destiny 2’s Zero Hour mission. Hidden in the mission is a long and complicated puzzle. But for your efforts, you’ll earn a new ship and increase your Catalyst progress.
Here’s how to complete the Terminal Sequencing puzzle and earn the Repair Schematics.
Keycards and configurations
Each week, the Heroic Zero Hour mission has a rotating elemental burn, but the location of the keycards is actually the same each week.
Follow along with our Heroic Zero Hour guide if you’ve never been through this version of the mission before.
Before you start collecting keycards, you’ll need to pick up the Void Configuration (or Arc Configuration or Solar Configuration, depending on the week). After you clear out the first courtyard of enemies, walk into the nook to the left of the stairs. The appropriate Configuration is sitting on a shelf in a storage locker. Grab it.
Continue the mission until after combat ends and you drop down the vent in the shipyard. After the your drop, walk forward and jump over the railing. Instead of moving into the next ventilation shaft, turn around. Under the railing platform is a small space that you can crawl through. Crouch and follow the vent until you reach the Blue Keycard.
Continue the mission until right before you go outside. In the room with the pipes that lead out of the tower, move to the far right. Turn around and look toward the leftmost pipe. There is another small nook that you can crawl through. Crouch and follow the path until you reach the Green Keycard.
Complete the outside jumping puzzle. When you reenter the Tower, take a left instead of going down the chute to your right. When you hit the wall, look right and you’ll see a small alley. Walk in and look into the vent to find the Red Keycard.
With the Configuration and all three keycards, you’re ready to move onto the Terminal Sequence puzzle section of the guide.
First, you’ll have to run through the white tile room. You can see the paths below. For a complete text walkthrough of this, check out our Heroic guide.
Terminal Sequence puzzle
Keep going in the mission until you enter the Cryptarch’s Vault. Move through the flaming hallway until you reach the treasure room with the Outbreak Perfected case at the end. Don’t jump down the hole.
The left picture above is your map for the puzzle. The red rectangles (1, 2, 3) with the lines connected to them represent the three terminals in the main room. Take two of your players and situate them at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
On both terminals, there are two circles that have 12 sections each — like the right image. When all three players are in the room, have one of the server readers interact with their terminal to “begin sequencing.”
The rotating lights on all the terminals will stop. Using the right image, both terminal players need to read off where the orange lights stopped. For example, the Terminal 1 player may have two and four, while the Terminal 3 player has 12 and 7.
These tables shows the solution to each number combination. Read in with the map above to solve the puzzle.
Unfortunately, our the Solar section of the table isn’t cooperation with our integration. Check out the table here.
You can also use this helpful web tool. Make sure your configuration is set to the proper week (V for Void, A for Arc, S for Solar). Input the left number for Terminal 1 and then the right number for Terminal 1 in their boxes. Then input only the left number for Terminal 3 into its box. Depending on the numbers you input, a solution will appear in the solution box.
Designate terminal players to read the numbers and find the solution on the chart or web tool aloud to your third player — the Runner.
The Runner must memorize the room’s map or have it open on another screen nearby. One of the terminal players will read off the solution, which will be a number and a color. The color tells you which room you need to go to, and the number reveals the server you need to interact with.
Let’s look at Green-1 as an example. If the terminal players reads Green-1, you need to run to the room in the upper left filled with green crystals. Now you’ll need to find server 1. Look at the middle of the map and the numbered rectangles 1-7 in the middle. These are your server numbers for each room. Green-1 would be the back right server in the top left room. Walk up to it and interact.
If you’ve done the puzzle correctly, 15 seconds will go into your timer. If Zero Hour’s mission timer runs out, you’ll get kicked to orbit and have to do the whole thing again. We started the puzzle with nearly seven minutes on the clock and had about one minute left at the end — including bonus time. Make sure you go fast during the rest of the mission.
If you hit the wrong server, the terminals will all freeze. Have your allies spread out and look for a server with a green 9 or 0 on it. If you can interact with it, you can restart the sequence and pick up where you left off.
You need to repeat this entire process — reading the numbers, inputting them, accessing the correct server — 49 times. If you access every terminal, you’ll hear a chime and earn your ship schematic and some SIVA Particulates.
Come back and do this for two more weeks to complete the other two elemental burn configurations, build the ship, and complete the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst.
When you’ve completed the puzzle, you’ll finish the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst and earn this adorable new ship.
