If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on Io, taking shelter in a cave around Giant’s Scar.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Coldheart, trace rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Aeon Swift, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Eternal Warrior, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Starfire Protocol, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory caps out at 731 if you’re 750. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.
Coldheart
Xur is finally selling Coldheart this week. This was a pre-order exclusive gun when Destiny 2 first launched and became available to all when Curse of Osiris was released last December. Coldheart is a trace rifle, meaning it fires in a constant beam. Its first exotic perk, Cold Fusion, causes the Coldheart to fire in a beam made of Arc damage. Its secondary perk, Longest Winter, causes Coldheart to deal more and more damage the longer it remains on the same target.
Aeon Swift
Aeon Swift is a Hunter gauntlet from Curse of Osiris. Its exotic perk, Aeon Energy, will grant energy to other Aeon item users in your fireteam. You’ll share ability energy with other classes, and get back dodge energy if they use the perk for you.
These gauntlets, and their matching sets for other classes, are actual garbage. There is no reason to ever use these. Do not buy them, especially since you can get them by just finishing the Osiris campaign as a Hunter. They’re terrible, please don’t give Xur the satisfaction of a sale this week.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Shotgun loader, impact induction, momentum transfer
Slot 2: Grenade Launcher scavenger, rocket launcher scavenger
Eternal Warrior
Eternal Warrior is a returning Titan helmet from Destiny. This time around, Eternal Warrior the Resolute intrinsic perk. When activating Fists of Havoc — the Striker Titan super — you’ll gain an overshield.
This is a hard exotic to place. Activating your super already gives you bonus defense, so an overshield would make you essentially invincible. If you play Striker in highly difficult content — like Trials of the Nine or the raid — this is a great helmet to wear when you don’t need anything else.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Auto rifle targeting, power weapon targeting, bow targeting
Slot 2: Fusion rifle reserves, machine gun reserves
Starfire Protocol
Starfire Protocol will rarely be a worthwhile exotic. Its perk is Fusion Harness, which grants you an extra charge of fusion grenades and causes fusion grenade kills to grant you Rift energy. The fusion grenades are fairly subpar in Destiny 2, which makes this perk mostly useless. It also requires you to use Dawnblade, which is the least useful of the Warlock specs. If you already love being a Dawnblade and using fusion grenades, then you should absolutely pick this up. If you don’t often use either, skip it.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Unflinching hand cannon aim, unflinching sidearm aim, unflinching machine gun aim
Slot 2: Pulse rifle reserves, sidearm reserves
Invitation
If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
