If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly Exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he now appears all over the map. This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, hanging out Calus’ barge.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Arbalest, Kinetic linear fusion rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Crown of Tempests, Warlock helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Shinobu’s Vow, Hunter arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Ashen Wake, Titan arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory caps out at 731 if you’re 750. He also offers specific rolls on each armor piece each week, giving out different perks for the same pieces.
Arbalest
Arbalest is the exotic from The Revelry holiday event. Its Exotic perk is Compounding Force, where the weapon deals bonus damage to shielded enemies. It also buffs itself after destroying an enemy shield.
Arbalest is unique in many ways. It’s the first ever Kinetic fusion rifle, and is an amazing tool for removing shields (usually something reserved for Energy weapons). This weapon isn’t the most impressive Exotic out there in everyday use, but it is very powerful in niche situations, such as difficult activities with lots of shielded enemies like the Zero Hour mission.
If you did’t get this during The Revelry and haven’t gotten it as a world drop, pick it up.
Shinobu’s Vow
Shinobu’s Vow are from Curse of Osiris. Their exotic perk, New Tricks, improves your Skip Grenade and grants you an extra Skip Grenade charge. The worth of this exotic comes down to personal preference. Anything that gives you an extra grenade charge is great. However, this extra grenade charge is only for Arcstrider hunters, the least popular hunter spec. If you like playing Arcstrider and prefer using a grenade-boosting exotic rather than the Raiden Flux chest piece, pick up these gauntlets. If that doesn’t apply to you, skip it.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Submachine Gun Loader, Fastball, Momentum Transfer
Slot 2: Grenade Launcher Scavenger, Special Ammo Finder
Ashen Wake
Ashen Wake is one of the new exotics in Destiny 2: Warmind. Its main exotic perk is Bring the Heat, which causes the Fusion Grenades used by solar Titans to explode immediately on impact and travel faster in mid-air. This is a cool exotic on paper, but it doesn’t actually add any damage to your grenades.
Ashen Wake is a hard sell for your single exotic spot when other grenade-related exotics like the Armamentarium exist. However, the effect is still fun to use, especially if you’re accustomed to more of the instant gratification that comes with the Striker’s Pulse Grenades. Pick these up if you’re a collector, or hammer Titan enthusiast.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Submachine Gun Loader, Linear Fusion Rifle Loader, Momentum Transfer
Slot 2: Special Ammo Finder, Heavy Ammo Finder
Crown of Tempests
Crown of Tempests is a pretty great Warlock Exotic, especially if you like Stormcaller. This helmet’s main perk, Conduction Tines, causes Arc ability kills to recharge your Arc abilities and increase the duration of your Super — this ability now stacks as well. The only bad news about this helmet is that it needs to be used with Stormcaller, which is a great PvP Super now and decent for enemy clear in strikes and raids. If you don’t have this helmet for your Warlock, you should definitely consider picking it up.
This week’s roll:
Slot 1: Bow Targeting, Light Reactor, Machine Gun Targeting
Slot 2: Fusion Rifle Reserves, Machine Gun Reserves
Invitation
If you haven’t completed the Invitation quest yet, Xur is still offering it for nine Legendary Shards.
