The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur on Io, north of the Giant’s Scar landing zone, standing in the back of a cave.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Hard Light, Void auto rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Ophidia Spathe, Hunter chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Mask of the Quiet One, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Warlock helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
Xur’s inventory caps out at 1050.
HARD LIGHT
Hard Light is one of the best guns in Destiny 2 right now. Its Exotic perk, Volatile Light, causes the projectiles fired to have no damage fall-off at range, and to pierce targets and ricochet off walls. Shots that bounce off of walls deal bonus damage. Hard Light can also shift between all three elemental types by holding down the reload button.
Hard Light is a great gun for matching elements in a Nightfall or for PvP. It’s currently the most popular gun in the Trials of Osiris gametype. Pick this up if you don’t have it.
OPHIDIA SPATHE
The Ophidia Spathe chest piece’s exotic perk is Scissor Fingers, which lets hunters throw two knives per charge. This exotic is pretty neat, and throwing knives have always been fun to use in Destiny. This piece is also fairly unique, as it lets players hold two charges of their melee ability while also granting them two charges instantly upon recharge.

With the recent addition of Way of a Thousand Cuts in Forsaken, this is one of the best Hunter chest pieces in the game. When combined with the subclass’ unique abilities, you can essentially throw knifes constantly. It’s a really fun playstyle, and definitely worth trying out if you have a Hunter.
Xur’s roll this week is Solar, and comes with 64 total stats.
MASK OF THE QUIET ONE
Mask of the Quiet One is a mediocre Titan Exotic in both PvP and PvE. Its exotic perk, Dreaded Visage, grants energy for your grenade, melee, and class ability each time you take damage. Kills with Void abilities instantly trigger your health regeneration. While this helmet is best used with Sentinel, you’ll get the extra energy on damage regardless of your subclass. If you’re going to be taking a lot of damage, this is a decent Exotic to throw on.
Xur’s roll this week is Void, and comes with 62 total stats.
SKULL OF DIRE AHAMKARA
The Skull of Dire Ahamkara is the Warlock helmet on offer this week. It’s a pretty good exotic — although nerfed earlier in Year 3 — and can be devastating when used properly. Its exotic perk, Actual Grandeur, causes you to take very low damage while casting Nova Bomb — and your Nova Bomb kills grant Super Energy instantly.
If you can accurately place your Nova Bomb in a large group of enemies — in PvE or even PvP — you will refund quite a bit of super energy. If you like playing Voidwalker at all, this is a great helmet.
Xur’s roll this week is Arc and comes with 64 total stats.
