The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur on Nessus, and he’s back to standing on the tree in the Watcher’s Grave.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
- Skyburner’s Oath, Solar scout rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Aeon Swift, Hunter arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Synthoceps, Titan arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Karnstein Armlets, Warlock arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
- Exotic Cipher quest: free
Xur’s items drop at a similar power level as your character.
Skyburner’s Oath
The Skyburner’s Oath is a scout rifle modeled after the Cabal’s slug rifle. Its first Exotic perk is Slug Rifle, which causes the gun to become more powerful when you’re aiming down its sights, and launch heat-seeking grenades when you fire from the hip. The second Exotic perk is For the Empire. This perk makes the gun fully automatic, deal extra damage to Cabal enemies and, most importantly, penetrate the shields of Phalanx enemies.
All of the perks around Skyburner’s Oath make it sound fantastic, but it’s a fairly mediocre weapon. However, it is pretty unique as far as Destiny guns go, so pick it up if you’re looking for something new.
Aeon Swift
Aeon Swift is a Hunter gauntlet from Curse of Osiris. Its Exotic perk, Aeon Energy, will grant energy to other Aeon item users in your fireteam. You’ll share ability energy with other classes, and get back dodge energy if they use the perk for you.
These gauntlets, and their matching sets for other classes, are actual garbage. There is no reason to ever use these. Do not buy them, especially since you can get them by just finishing the Osiris campaign as a Hunter. They’re terrible, please don’t give Xur the satisfaction of a sale this week.
Xur’s roll this week comes with 62 total stats.
Synthoceps
Destiny 2 patch 1.2.1 brought changes to Exotic armor. As we wrote near the patch’s release, “Synthoceps will now buff melee damage and super damage by a flat amount for a full eight seconds after being surrounded by three or more enemies. This is potentially a very powerful Exotic now.”
Its Biotic Enhancements intrinsic perk offers “increased melee lunge range” as well as “improved melee and Super damage when surrounded.” This is one of the most powerful Titan Exotics in the game and always benefits you for wearing them. If you don’t have these, buy them!
Xur’s roll this week comes with 61 total stats.
Karnstein Armlets
The Karnstein Armlets are fun, powerful Warlock Exotics. The Exotic perk, Vampire’s Caress, will grant a large amount of health on a melee kill and also apply a heal over time to the player. Karnstein Armlets are must-have gauntlets for any Warlock player. They are very useful in PvE and PvP. Do not let these pass you by if you don’t have them yet.
Xur’s roll this week comes with 61 total stats.

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments To Lost Light kiosk in the tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent, Truth, and more.
This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
