Destiny 2 Xur Image: Bungie

The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, standing on a bluff overlooking the field in the Winding Cove.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Lord of Wolves, Solar shotgun: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Young Ahamkara’s Spine, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Eternal Warrior, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Astrocyte Verse, Warlock helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)

Xur’s inventory caps out at 1050.

Lord of Wolves

Lord of Wolves is a Forsaken shotgun, usually coming from Spider bounties. Its Exotic perk is Shrapnel Launcher, which causes the weapon to fire a burst of flaming shrapnel in a line. Its secondary perk is Release the Wolves. Holding the reload button activates an alternate fire mode for Lord of Wolves that fires double the ammunition with every trigger pull and deals bonus damage.

Lord of Wolves is a great shotgun in both PvE and PvP. After a recent update, it was so powerful that Bungie awarded an emblem to players who had to deal with it in PvP. Bungie has since nerfed the gun, but it’s still an interesting weapon to use in multiplayer or PvE. If you haven’t gotten it to drop from one of Spider’s bounties, make sure to pick up Lord of Wolves.

Young Ahamkara’s Spine

Young Ahamkara’s Spine is fairly unremarkable as far as Exotics go. Its main perk, Wish-Dragon Teeth, increases the length and blast radius of your tripmine grenades and returns energy to your grenade slot when you damage enemies with abilities. This is situational at best in PvP and almost useless in PvE.

A situational PvP exotic doesn’t cut it when Hunters already have very good PvP catch-alls like the Foetracer helmet — although some Hunters swear by the more powerful grenade. If you’re trying collect all of the exotics and you’re missing these, Young Ahamkara’s Spine is for you.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 65 total stats.

Eternal Warrior

Eternal Warrior is a returning Titan helmet from Destiny. This time around, Eternal Warrior offers the Resolute intrinsic perk. When activating Fists of Havoc — the Striker Titan Super — you’ll gain an overshield.

This is a hard exotic to place. Activating your Super already gives you bonus defense, so an overshield would make you essentially invincible. If you play Striker in highly competitive PvP — like Trials of Osiris — this is a great helmet to wear when you don’t need anything else.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 63 total stats.

Astrocyte Verse

The Astrocyte Verse is a Warlock helmet from Season of Opulence. Its Exotic perk is Move to Survive, which increases Blink frequency, distance, and weapon ready speed after blinking back into existence. Your radar also stays active while you Blink. This Exotic is complete situational — depending on if you like the Warlock’s Blink jump ability. Blink can be very powerful in PvP, making this helmet a must-have for Crucible Warlocks.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 60 total stats.
