Destiny 2 Xur location and items, Jan. 22-26

The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, standing on a bluff in the Winding Cove.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

• Skyburner’s Oath, Solar scout rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
• Lucky Raspberry, Hunter chest: 23 Legendary Shards
• Actium War Rig, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
• Karnstein Armlets, Warlock gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
• Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
• Exotic Cipher quest: free

Xur’s items drop at a similar power level as your character.

Skyburner’s Oath

Skyburner’s Oath is an Exotic scout rifle modeled after the Cabal’s slug rifle. Its first Exotic perk is Slug Rifle, which causes the gun to become more powerful when you’re aiming down its sights, and launch heat-seeking grenades when you fire from the hip. The second Exotic perk is For the Empire. This perk makes the gun fully automatic, deal extra damage to Cabal enemies and, most importantly, penetrate the shields of Phalanx enemies.

All of the perks around Skyburner’s Oath make it sound fantastic, but it’s a fairly mediocre weapon. However, it is pretty unique as far as Destiny guns go, so pick it up if you’re looking for something new.

Lucky Raspberry

The Hunter Exotic this week is Lucky Raspberry. The main perk here is Probability Matrix, which enhances your Arc Bolt grenade, giving it a chance to reset after dealing damage and causing it to chain more effectively. The cooldown is also reset on a full chain. This chest piece is pretty mediocre compared to other Hunter Exotics, so it’s difficult to recommend to new players who may not have the Legendary Shards to burn.

Actium War Rig

Actium War Rig is an extremely powerful Titan chest piece. Its exotic perk, Auto-loading Link, will constantly reload your auto rifles as you fire them. If you’re a fan of auto rifles — especially ones with larger than average magazines — this is an incredible exotic. When pairing Actium War Rig with the Sweet Business exotic auto rifle, the clip will refill with 10 rounds every few seconds, allowing the minigun to truly feel unique. If you ever use auto rifles, this chest piece is an absolute must-have.

Karnstein Armlets

The Karnstein Armlets are fun, powerful Warlock Exotics. The Exotic perk, Vampire’s Caress, will grant a large amount of health on a melee kill and also apply a heal over time to the player. Karnstein Armlets are must-have gauntlets for any Warlock player. They are very useful in PvE and PvP. Do not let these pass you by if you don’t have them yet.

Exotic Cipher quest

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments To Lost Light kiosk in the tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent, Truth, and more.

This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
