Head to the Tower for some Exotics

Destiny 2 Xur Image: Bungie

The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the Tower, hanging out by the back stairs in the Hangar.

Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Two-Tailed fox, rocket launcher: 29 Legendary Shards
  • St0mp-EE5, Hunter legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Severance Enclosure, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Chromatic Fire, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
  • Exotic Cipher quest: free

Xur’s items drop at a similar power level as your character.

Two-Tailed Fox

The Two-Tailed Fox is an Exotic rocket launcher from Forsaken. Its primary perk, Twintails, causes it to launch two rockets instead of one — both of which track. Its secondary perk is Play with your Prey, which causes one rocket to deal burning Solar damage, and the other to suppress enemies with Void damage.

The Two-Tailed Fox is a cool rocket launcher that’s interesting and unique to use. But its quality depends largely on how good rocket launchers are in a given season. And even then, there are usually better choices. If you want an Exotic that’s fun to use but isn’t going to be a mainstay in your arsenal, grab the Two-Tailed Fox from Xur this week.

St0mp-EE5

St0mp-EE5 is a powerful traversal Exotic for Hunters. The Exotic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, increases slide and sprint speed, as well as jump height. This Exotic is very strong in all kinds of situations. In PvE content, it can be great for getting where you need to go quickly. In PvP, it’s a perfect exotic to disorient foes and get to unexpected places quickly.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 59 total stats.

Severance Enclosure

Severance Enclosure is an Exotic from Season of Dawn. Its Exotic perk is Spheromatik Trigger. Elemental melee kills unleash an explosion. Finishers increase the range and power of the explosion, as do kills on more powerful enemies.

This Exotic is unlikely to ever be useful for late-game activities. But it’s a really cool effect if you’re just looking to run around the world of Destiny and punch stuff — as Titans are wont to do.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 61 total stats.

Chromatic Fire

Chromatic Fire is a Warlock Exotic added in Forsaken. Its exotic perk is Crystalline Transistor. Getting precision kills with your Kinetic weapon creates an elemental explosion — like the Dragonfly perk — based on your current subclass. This perk is useful if you’re fighting large groups of enemies at once, or need extra elemental help against enemies.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 64 total stats.

Exotic Cipher quest

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.

This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
