The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove, standing on a bluff next to a Fallen Ketch.

Xur’s Exotic inventory this week consists of the following:
- Monte Carlo, Kinetic auto rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
- Liar’s Handshake, Hunter gauntlets: 23 Legendary Shards
- Helm of Saint-14, Titan helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Claws of Ahamkara, Warlock arms: 23 Legendary Shards
- Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
- Exotic Cipher quest: free
As of Season of the Lost, Xur also sells a collection of old armor and weapons — similar to Banshee-44 and Ada-1. Usually, these items are difficult to find and from seasons long past. Each item (whether armor or weapon) only costs 1,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.
Xur’s Legendary inventory this week consists of the following:
- Seventh Seraph Carbine, Kinetic auto rifle
- Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver, Kinetic hand cannon
- The Last Dance, Arc sidearm
- Timeline’s Vertex, Solar fusion rifle
- Long Shadow, Kinetic sniper rifle
- Seventh Seraph Saw, Arc machine gun
- Honor’s Edge, Arc sword
- Frozen Orbit, Arc sniper
- Black armory armor set
Xur’s Exotic items drop at a similar power level as your character. Legendary items drop at 1100.
Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo is an older Exotic auto rifle from the original Destiny, brought back to life in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. Its primary Exotic perk is Monte Carlo Method, which reduces the cooldown of your melee ability whenever you deal damage with Monte Carlo, and offers a chance for a melee ability reset on a Monte Carlo kill. Monte Carlo’s secondary perk is the Markov Chain, which increases the gun’s damage after primary fire or melee kills. Markov Chain also grants ammo on a melee kill.
Monte Carlo was a beloved auto rifle in the original Destiny, and it’s even better in Destiny 2. The gun offers some serious utility for melee-focused builds, and it feels great to shoot. Like most Exotic primaries, this isn’t the kind of weapon you want to take with you into a new raid. But for trolling around the universe, breaking space robots, and punching space rhinos, it’s the perfect companion.
Liar’s Handshake
Liar’s Handshake is a Hunter exclusive Exotic that gives your melees a little bit of extra kick. Their ability is called Cross Counter, and whenever you use an Arc melee ability or are hit with a melee attack, they’ll increase the damage of your next melee and let it heal you. If you’re headed somewhere with plenty of up-close-and-personal fighting, these should give you a nice extra boost in damage and might even get you out of a tight spot.
Xur’s roll this week has 59 total stat points.
Helm of Saint-14
Another returning Destiny Exotic, the Helm of Saint-14 is useful in Destiny 2. Its Exotic perk, Starless Night, causes your Ward of Dawn to blind enemies who walk inside it. Guarding with Sentinel Shield will provide the same result.
The Ward of Dawn is now a very powerful option in Destiny 2, with the Weapons of Light buff increasing player damage. This is a great helmet if you want to keep you and your allies even safer than a normal Ward of Dawn. And it just happens to be one of the coolest-looking Exotics in Destiny 2.
Xur’s roll this week has 62 total stat points.
Claws of Ahamkara
The Claws of Ahamkara are Warlock Exotic gauntlets added in Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion. Their Exotic perk, The Whispers, grants any Warlock that wears these gloves an extra melee charge. Warlocks have some pretty powerful melee abilities, so these are great gloves if you love getting up close with your enemies.

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the Tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.
This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
