Something New — the new weapon for the Solstice 2022 event inside Destiny 2’s Season of the Haunted — is a new Stasis hand cannon that has some unique perk options. One of those perks is its new origin perk, Dream Work, that will, once per reload, partially refill your magazine from reserves for assists and assisted final blows.

In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ll go over how to get Something New and what perks to consider in both PvE and PvP.

Note: After August 9, Something New will be unavailable until Solstice 2023.

How to get Something New

You can get Something New as a reward for completing the Bonfire Bash activity. The drop rate appears to be quite high, so you should get plenty while working toward unlocking the glows for your Solstice Armor.

Listed here is every perk that you can get on Something New.

PvE God Roll to consider

While hand cannons are not currently in the best spot for PvE content, Something New’s origin perk makes it a unique choice for Strikes and other cooperative activities.

Here’s our baseline recommendation for a PvE Something New:

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Light Mag
  • Perk 1: Wellspring
  • Perk 2: Demolitionist

PvP God Roll to consider

Something New doesn't have a lot of outstanding perks for PvP, but here’s our baseline recommendation for a Something New built for the Crucible:

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk 1: Tunnel Vision
  • Perk 2: Multikill Clip
