Diablo 3 Necromancer guide: Inarius’ Bone Storm build

The best offense is a good defense

Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

Trying to maximize your offense and defense is crucial to a late game build in Diablo 3: The Rise of the Necromancer. When we say late game, we mean pushing higher level Torment difficulties and Greater Rifts. Coming up with your own build is good, but there are almost always one to two optimal builds for any given class. At the time of its release, it appears that the Necromancer has three: the Bone Storm build, the Blood build and the Minion build.

Bone Storm is currently the strongest of those builds, holding most of the top spots for the non-season Greater Rift ranking on Diablo Progress. A melee-mancer playstyle, Bone Storm is all about getting close. On Diablo Fans, the community creates builds for all to use and enjoy. User BigDaddyDen cataloged this Bone Storm build. How to use Inarius’ Bone Storm build

To play this build successfully, apply Decrepify to all of your enemies and then gain as many stacks of Bone Armor as possible. Grim Scythe will be your main damage-dealing tool, so drop in and whale on enemies when they are close to you. Use your corpses to fuel your Corpse Lance on bigger enemies and Land of the Dead when you need to take down a big target.

Stay close and swing your Scythe often.
