Diablo 3 Necromancer guide: Blood build

Blood for blood

Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

Trying to maximize your offense and defense is crucial to a late game build in Diablo 3: The Rise of the Necromancer. When we say late game, we mean pushing higher level Torment difficulties and Greater Rifts. Coming up with your own build is good, but there are almost always one to two optimal builds for any given class. At the time of its release, it appears that the Necromancer has three: the Bone Storm build, the Blood build and the Minion build.

Blood doesn’t show up on Diablo Progress until you get far past the top 10. However, for players who still want to do well without being at the height of competition can still make it work. On Diablo Fans, the community creates builds for all to use and enjoy. User Wreckanoth catalogued this Blood build. Let’s go through the various selections of items and abilities.

How to use the Blood build

To play this build successfully, you want to apply Decrepify to all of your enemies and then gain as many stacks of Bone Armor as possible. Dump your health and Essence on Skeletal Mage and command your skeletons to attack the most important target in the area. Tap Devour whenever there are a lot of corpses around you and use Siphon Blood as your filler move.
