Diablo 4 has two different kinds of items that can completely alter your playstyle: Legendary and Unique. Legendary powers can come on a variety of different items and there are over 100 of them in the game — you can even unlock some for your Codex of Power and imprint them on as many items as you’d like. But Uniques are even more powerful and rare versions of Legendaries, and will only ever appear as a single item type with a single name.
In this Diablo 4 guide, we’re going to show you all the Unique items and effects currently in the game.
Note: Because Diablo 4 is balanced around item scaling, and finding better versions of items you already have, the numeric values in each Unique will change depending on the level of item you find it on. Some of these number values can range from 100 to 10,000, so we’ve replaced any numbers that are able to scale with X. If you see an X in the sheet below, know that the value in question can and will change based on your luck and power level.
Some Uniques are class-agnostic, and provide generic effects that work across all the classes — just like certain Aspects in the Codex of Power. Most Uniques are limited to one specific class: Rogue, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Necromancer, or Druid. We’ve grouped the Uniques by which class can use them, and organized the sheets in alphabetical order.
New uniques added in season 1
Diablo 4 season 1 heralds six new Unique items to the loot pool (as well as several new Legendary Aspects). There’s one new ultra-rare Unique and one new class-specific Unique per class. Blizzard didn’t add any non-ultra-rare class-agnostic Uniques in season 1.
Here’s the full list of added Uniques, the details of which we’ve added to the tables below:
- Ahavarion Spear of Lycander (Ultra-rare staff)
- Azurewrath (Barbarian one-handed sword)
- Eaglehorn (Rogue bow)
- Fleshrender (Druid one-handed mace)
- Lidless Wall (Necromancer shield)
- The Oculus (Sorcerer wand)
Class-agnostic Uniques
Below, we’ve listed out all the Uniques that are usable by any class in the game, and therefore focus on generic effects rather than class-specific ones. There are currently 14 class-agnostic Unique items in the game, but seven of them are so rare that we’ve broken them off into a separate section. Here are the remaining seven:
Non-class specific Uniques
Unique name | Item slot | Unique Effect |
---|---|---|
Unique name | Item slot | Unique Effect |
Fists of Fate | Gloves | Your attacks randomly deal 1% to X% of their normal damage. |
Frostburn | Gloves | Lucky Hit: Up to an X% chance to Freeze enemies for 2 seconds. |
Mother's Embrace | Ring | If a Core Skill hits 5 or more enemies, X% of the Resource cost is refunded. |
Penitent Greaves | Boots | You leave behind a trail of frost that Chills enemies. You deal X% more damage to Chilled enemies. |
Razorplate | Chest Armor | Gain X Thorns. |
Temerity | Temerity | Effects that Heal you beyond 100% Life grant you a Barrier up to X% of your Maximum Life that lasts for 8 seconds. |
The Butcher's Cleaver | One-handed Axe | Lucky Hit: When you Critically Strike an enemy you have up to a 100% chance to Fear and Slow them by X% for 4 seconds. |
Ultra-rare Uniques
Seven of the class-agnostic Uniques in Diablo 4 are extremely rare items — so rare that it took over a month for all of them to drop.
These items only drop from enemies that are over level 85, but when they do they are guaranteed to be 820 Item Power — one of the highest in the game. It’s not uncommon to see these items — especially Harlequin Crest — listed as the best item in many different build guides. But these are all aspirational items, and are so rare that you realistically will never get one even after thousands of hours in Diablo 4.
If you do luck into one of these, keep in mind that they’re almost always good, and are specifically designed to work with almost any build. The only reason not to equip one of these is if you already have a crucial Unique for your build in the same slot.
