WandaVision, the first of a whole slate of Marvel Cinematic Universe television spinoffs exclusive to Disney Plus, will premiere on on Jan. 15, 2021.
Disney Plus shared the release date Thursday on its official Twitter account, along with a teaser. Composed largely of already released images, the brief video still hints at the era-hopping, sitcom-family-with-a-dark-twist story that WandaVision seems likely to tell.

The series picks up with Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, living happily ever after with her android beau, Vision. Which is interesting, given that Vision didn’t even live long enough to get snapped during the events of Avengers: Infinity War — and so was not among those resurrected at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
WandaVision was not supposed to be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe show to hit Disney Plus, but when Hollywood productions around the world shut down this spring, it turned out to be the one that was closest to finishing production. A premiere date of Jan. 15, 2021, gives Disney Plus time to finish airing the second season of The Mandalorian, its biggest original series so far, which is set to end on Dec. 18.
