The Division 2 guide: How to get the Nemesis Exotic sniper rifle

Nemesis takes three weeks, but it’s worth it

The Nemesis Exotic sniper rifle is one of the most powerful weapons in in The Division 2. It has the power to kill a boss in a single headshot. Like many Exotics, it’s even an incredible tool while holstered.

Nemesis isn’t something you can just earn in a single play session. This quest takes weeks of work, but it’s well worth it. This guide will teach you how to get the Nemesis blueprint, and the components used to build it.

Nemesis perks

Nemesis is a machine for killing big enemies, a slow-firing sniper rifle with a long-zoom scope. It’s meant for taking out threats at long range, and all three perks help with that.

  • Counter-Sniper: Shots fired deal 0-100% weapon damage based on how long the trigger is held before releasing. The time to reach max weapon damage is reduced whenever a shot does not kill an enemy it hits.
  • Nemesis: Aiming at an enemy marks them as your nemesis for 15 seconds, letting you see them through walls. Your shots gain 5% damage to your nemesis for each second they are marked, to a max of 50%.
  • Preparation: While holstered, gain 25% headshot damage when scoped with your current weapon.

Nemesis Step 1: The first piece, Marksman Rifle Scope — Tally

This is the most time-consuming part of the quest if you’re starting from scratch.

Do the weekly Invaded missions until you unlock the Tidal Basin Stronghold. Play through the mission until you find yourself in a small courtyard, looking at the “Dock 01” sign.

Look for a barracks on your right and walk into it. Go upstairs and find the far right bunk beds. There is a keycard sitting on the bottom bunk. Pick it up.

Continue the mission until you reach the aircraft carrier — before the final boss. Watch for a locked metal door to your left — there is a keycard reader next to it. Instead of turning right and deeper into the carrier, walk up to the door and open it. Inside, you’ll find a weapon case. Grab the gun inside.

Look in your inventory for your new Adrestia SR1 and dismantle it — seriously. Your reward is the first piece of the Nemesis, the scope called Tally. Now it’s time to start your three-week journey.

Nemesis Step 2: Barrel (the Scourge), Bolt (the Scales), and Stock (the Bridle)

The next three pieces drop from the final bosses of the other three Invaded Strongholds. The problem is, you can only play an Invaded Stronghold on the week it’s Invaded. Make sure you clear the Invaded Stronghold every week until Nemesis is yours.

If this is your first week doing Nemesis, you can redo the Invaded Stronghold you’ve already cleared to unlock Tidal Basin. Since you can only get the other pieces after you have Tally, you need to beat it again to get that boss’ drop.

Go to the map and hover over the Stronghold. Go into the difficulty menu and look down at the prompts list. Hold the difficulty menu button again to reset the Stronghold to Invaded. Play through like normal and grab your piece.

For the other two, you’ll need to wait until the Stronghold rotates each week.

  • Barrel – The Scourge comes from Capitol Hill
  • Bolt – The Scales comes from Roosevelt Island
  • Stock – The Bridle comes from Union District Arena

Nemesis Step 3: The Nemesis blueprint

After you have all four Nemesis pieces, you’ll need to replay the Grand Washington Hotel Invaded mission. If it isn’t one of the Invaded missions this week, you’ll have to wait. Kill Puck early in the mission, grab your blueprint, and feel free to leave.

Nemesis Step 4: Build it

With all four pieces and the blueprint, head back to the White House and craft your Nemesis.
