Atlus announces R.I.P.D. movie tie-in game

In the lead-up to E3 2013 today, Atlus announced that it will be publishing R.I.P.D.: The Game, a spin-off of the upcoming film R.I.P.D.

R.I.P.D., which stands for "Rest in Peace Department," is a "supernatural action adventure" starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges that will hit theaters on July 19. The two leads work in an undead police department where they must hunt supernatural criminals.

The game, created by God Mode developer Old School Games, will be available this summer for PC and Xbox Live Arcade. It will launch at $9.99. Old School Games is promising authenticity with the film, two-player online co-op, and over-the-top shooting. It will also have an in-game betting system allowing the co-op partners to wager on their skills.
