Destiny beta arrives July 17 on PS3 and PS4, alpha available this week

Destiny's multiplayer beta will be available July 17 on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Sony Computer Entertainment group CEO Andrew House announced today during Sony's E3 2014 press briefing.

In addition, said House, a first look alpha will go live for PS4 owners this Thursday, June 12, and will run through the weekend. The beta will be available on Xbox platforms sometime after it launches on PlayStation.

Destiny is set for release Sept. 9 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. For more, check out our recent hands-on preview.
