BattleCry now taking signups for beta

BattleCry, the stylized, free-to-play online brawler coming from Bethesda Softworks, will stage a global beta sometime this year and is currently taking signups for it now, the publisher announced tonight at a news conference kicking off E3 2015.

Those who sign up at BattleCry's official site before June 18 will get priority access and an in-game reward.

Bethesda established BattleCry Studios in 2012 to develop the game. BattleCry is set in an early 20th century period, around the time of the First World War, in which gunpowder is banned by treaty and soldiers must fight using melee and other non-firearm weapons.

The game is class-based; five were announced when the game was revealed last year, and a highlight reel showcased those and others.
