EA debuted new trailers for several of its upcoming Star Wars games today, including a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront. Watch the reel above from this afternoon's EA Play event, the company's inaugural showcase of its line-up. Watch the montage about the various projects above.
Jade Raymond, general manager of Motive Studios, presented the Star Wars projects in the pipeline, from developers including Criterion, Capital Games, DICE, Respawn Entertainment, Motive Studios and Visceral Games.
First announced in May, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set for a 2017 release. The game, a collaboration between DICE and Motive, will feature settings and characters from both the main series of films and the Anthology episodes, including this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Criterion is working with DICE on a VR mission for Star Wars Battlefront. This will be available exclusively on PlayStation VR later this year.
Among the games discussed were an action/adventure game featuring an original story set in the Star Wars universe from Visceral Games in 2018. Former Uncharted director Amy Hennig is helming the project. EA showed a quick glimpse of in-game footage from this title in the montage above.
Also coming up is Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars game, which remains undated. The company announced that the Titanfall developer was working on an action/adventure title in the franchise earlier this year. The game is in pre-production and is planned to focus on a timeline separate from that of other Star Wars games.
